Saturday Review
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts. I’m Billy Taylor and let’s get started.
We began the week by seeing how God is a good Heavenly Father.
Here’s the promise.
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! – Matthew 7:11
Make these confessions after me.
- My Heavenly Father is a good father.
- He desires to give me good gifts.
- He invites me to call on Him for my needs, desires, and concerns.
- My Heavenly Father is always looking for ways to bless me.
In Jesus name,
Amen
Jesus said, just like earthly fathers, your Heavenly Father wants to bless you and has your best interest at heart.
On Tuesday, we discovered how God is always working in our lives to make us more like Christ. The more we are like Christ, the more we love, serve, and witness to those around us.
Here’s the promise.
For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. – Philippians 2:13
Make these declarations with me.
- Right now, God is working in my life.
- His Holy Spirit is working in me to bring about obedience to Christ.
- God gives me the desire to obey and serve Him.
- God is working in me so that He can work through me.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
Today, allow God to work in you, so you can work to please Him.
Midway through the week, we were reminded that God leads us step-by-step. He rarely gives us the final destination but gives us the next step so we walk in dependence on Him.
Here’s the promise.
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. – Isaiah 30:21
Make these confessions.
- God desires to lead and direct me through the day.
- I am blind to the world around me and need God’s guidance.
- As I tune my ears to His voice, I will hear Him more clearly.
- God may not show me the final destination, but He will show me the next step.
In Jesus name,
Amen
Throughout your day, take a moment to tune your ears to His voice and to connect with Him. If you are uncertain of your next step, ask the Lord for direction and clarity.
On Thursday, we celebrated the secure salvation we have in Christ. We need never fear death because we know we will spend eternity with Christ.
Here’s the promise.
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. – 1 John 5:13
Make these confessions.
- Through faith in Jesus Christ, I have eternal life.
- I will spend eternity in the presence of Christ.
- I know I have eternal life because I have put my faith in Christ.
- When doubts come, I have God’s Word to remind me of His promise of eternal life.
In Jesus name
Amen
God has promised you eternal life with Him. You can stand on that promise because it is backed by the Word of God.
We concluded the week seeing how Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would dwell in us as we put our faith in Christ.
Here’s the promise.
Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. – John 7:39
Confess this with me.
- I have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me.
- I have the fruit of the Spirit growing in me.
- I am empowered to be a witness for Christ.
- The Holy Spirit convicts me of sin so I can walk in obedience to Christ.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
God is doing so much in you through the Holy Spirit. Get to know the Holy Spirit and allow Him to work in you. Celebrate His presence in you today.
I know many of us are going through some tough times. If you need prayer, join us this Tuesday evening, May 5th for our online prayer meeting. I have gathered a number of ministers and prayer warriors and we want to pray for your need. Go to www.nationalprayerroom.com for more information.
