Saturday Review
This Week’s Promises
Joshua 1:8 | Psalm 23:6 | Psalm 86:7 | 1 John 5:13 | Matthew 7:11
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.
Monday – The Key to Prosperity and Success
We began the week looking at God’s success plan. God gave Joshua a 3-step success plan.
1. Keep God’s Word close.
2. Spend time thinking and considering God’s Word.
3. Walk in obedience to the Word.
As you discover, meditate, and obey God’s Word, the Holy Spirit will lead you through your day. The principles of God’s Word become part of your thinking and living. As you walk in obedience, God will bless you with success and prosperity.
Here’s the promise.
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. – Joshua 1:8
Make these confessions.
- I will keep God’s Word close to my heart and life.
- I will spend time each day thinking about God’s Word.
- I will obey the commands and principles I read in the Bible.
- As I meditate and obey God’s Word, He will bless me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Those who meditate and obey God’s Word will walk in the favor and blessings of God. They will find success as they do all God commands them.
Tuesday – Goodness and Mercy Always Follow You
On Tuesday, we agreed with the Psalmist that God’s goodness and mercy are abundant and overflowing. His goodness releases His blessing and favor on our lives.
God’s mercy is expressed in His grace working in our lives.
Here’s the promise.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. – Psalm 23:6
Make these confessions.
- God’s goodness is flowing over me today.
- God’s mercy is following me wherever I go.
- Just as God has blessed and protected me in the past, He will do so in the future.
- I will not worry or fear because His goodness and mercy are following me today.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
When you’re discouraged, and your faith is shrinking, remember God’s goodness and provision in the past. What He has done before, He will do again for you. His goodness and mercy will follow you throughout your life.
Wednesday – When Trouble Comes, Call on the Lord
Midway through the week, we committed to calling on the Lord when trouble or problems come. We won’t ride the fear and worry train, and we won’t climb on the “complain” train. We will call on the Lord as our protector and provider.
Here’s the promise.
In the day of my trouble I shall call upon You, For You will answer me. – Psalms 86:7
Make These Confessions.
- When trouble comes, I will not fear or complain.
- When trouble comes, I will call upon the Lord.
- When I call upon the Lord, I know He will answer me.
- God will never leave me to face my troubles and problems alone.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
When you face a major problem or issue, will you climb on the “What if” or the “Complain” train, or will you respond by calling on the Lord?
Thursday – You Can Know That You Have Eternal Life
On Thursday, we confessed that we have eternal life because we have placed our faith in Christ. We can stand secure in our faith because it is based on God’s Word.
Here’s the promise
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. – 1 John 5:13
Make these confessions.
- Through faith in Jesus Christ, I have eternal life.
- I will spend eternity in the presence of God.
- I know I have eternal life because I have put my faith in Christ.
- When doubts come, I have God’s Word and His promise of eternal life.
In Jesus’ name
Amen
Eternal life is not for those who try hard, live a good life, or hope they make it. Only those who placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior will spend eternity with Him in heaven.
Friday – God Gives Good Gifts
We concluded the week with the promise that if we know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more does God desire to give good gifts to His children?
Here’s the promise.
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! – Matthew 7:11
Make these confessions.
- My Heavenly Father is a good father.
- He desires to give me good gifts.
- He invites me to call on Him with my needs, desires, and concerns.
- My Heavenly Father is always looking for ways to bless me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Your prayer life will be transformed when you become convinced that God is a good father and wants to bless you.
That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
