This Week’s Promises
Matthew 26:27-28 | 1 Peter 2:24 | Isaiah 44:3 | Isaiah 43:19 | Galatians 5:1
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.
Monday – Jesus’ Blood Brings Forgiveness
We began the week claiming the promise that the blood of Jesus brings forgiveness for all our sins.
Here’s the promise.
And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. – Matthew 26:27-28
Make these confessions.
- The blood of Jesus has canceled my sin debt.
- The blood of Jesus has removed the guilt, shame, and regret of my past.
- When Jesus died on the cross, my sin was forgiven.
- There is no barrier between God and me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
When you came to faith in Christ, your sin debt was paid. The sin that separated you from God is gone. The blood of Jesus lets you stand before God blameless.
Tuesday – By His Stripes, You are Healed
On Tuesday, we saw how the cross brings healing to our past hurts, sorrows, and pain. When Jesus’s body was broken on the cross, it brought healing to you and me.
Here’s the promise.
And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. – 1 Peter 2:24
Make these confessions.
- Jesus took on my sin as He hung on the cross.
- Because of Jesus’ suffering, I am healed.
- I am healed of my past pain, sin, and hurt.
- I can walk in fellowship with God because of the cross.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Jesus did more than bring forgiveness on the cross. His broken body provides healing for us today.
Wednesday – Jesus Gives Water to the Thirsty Soul
On Wednesday, we celebrated the promise that God pours out His spirit on our thirsty soul. He brings refreshment through the Holy Spirit.
Here’s the promise.
For I will pour out water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring and My blessing on your descendants. – Isaiah 44:3
Make these confessions.
- God pours out spiritual water on my thirsty soul.
- The Holy Spirit refreshes my heart.
- My heart overflows with the Holy Spirit.
- When my life is dry, I call on the Lord for refreshment.
In Jesus’ Name
Amen
There is no reason to walk around spiritually thirsty. Call out to the one who promises spiritual water in the dry and dusty desert.
Thursday – God Makes a Road in the Wilderness
On Thursday, we saw that God provides guidance, clarity, and rivers of living water when we face the wilderness and the desert.
Here’s the promise.
Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:19
Make these confessions.
- Jesus is my road in the wilderness.
- When I don’t know what to do, He provides guidance and direction.
- In the desert, He is my source of refreshment.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
You don’t have to wander hopelessly when you experience the wilderness. God will give you a highway of clarity. In the desert, He will fill you with His refreshing, living water.
Friday – Jesus Brings Freedom
We ended the week with the promise that Christ has set us free. Since we are free, we must always focus on our relationship with Christ, not the rules and laws of religion.
Here’s the promise.
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. – Galatians 5:1
Make these confessions.
- In Jesus Christ, I have freedom.
- I am not under the law or any set of rules.
- I live in an empowered, loving relationship with Christ.
- I will not allow myself to be brought back under the bondage of religion.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Since Jesus set you free, never go back to the bondage of guilt and shame. Instead of living by a set of rules, live in a loving relationship with Jesus. He is the one who died for you on the cross to purchase your freedom.
That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
