Saturday Review
This Week’s Promises
1 John 5:4 | Psalm 118:29 | Psalm 37:23-24 | Ephesians 3:20 | John 15:9
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.
Monday – You are an Overcomer
We began the week by seeing how our faith overcomes the world. As a Christian, you walk in victory, overcoming the world. You overcome temptation, sin, and every attack that comes against you.
Your victory doesn’t come from personal discipline, hard work, or effort. Your victory comes through faith in Christ Jesus.
Here’s the promise.
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. – 1 John 5:4
Make these confessions.
- Through faith, I overcome the world.
- I will not allow the world to seduce me into its ways.
- Jesus sealed my victory on the cross.
- I don’t have to wait for heaven to experience the victorious Christian life.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
As a child of God, you are an overcomer. The world cannot pull you down or keep you from all God has for you.
Tuesday – You Can be Thankful Because God is Good
On Tuesday, we lifted our voices in thanks for all the wonderful blessings God has poured into our lives.
Something amazing happens when you take up a life of thankfulness. When you give thanks to the Lord, you confess that He is a good and loving God.
Here’s the promise.
Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting. – Psalm 118:29
Make these confessions.
- Thank you, Lord, for all the blessings you have given me.
- Thank you for your goodness and promise.
- Thank you for caring for me in ways I never see.
- Thank you, Father, that your love for me will never end.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
When you take time to be thankful, the problems of today fade, and you see just how much God loves you.
Wednesday – God Will Pick You Up When You Fall
Midway through the week, we saw that God is there to pick us up when we fall or fail. For the Christian, there is never a fatal fall.
If you have stumbled and messed up life, allow Jesus to reach down and lift you up.
Here’s the promise.
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand. – Psalm 37:23-24
Make these Confessions.
- Failure and falling are part of life.
- When I fall, I will not stay down.
- My failure doesn’t have to be fatal.
- Today, Jesus has me by the hand.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
At one time or another, you are going to experience a fall or failure. When you do, reach out to Jesus and let Him lift you up. Don’t let Satan keep you down. Remember, Jesus holds your hand.
Thursday – God’s Power in Me is More Than Enough
On Thursday, we claimed the promise that God is greater than we can ever comprehend.
We pray little prayers to a small God. We pray small prayers that are an insult to the great King of glory.
God invites us to pray big prayers because He is a big God. He is waiting to do an abundant work in our lives today.
Here’s the promise.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. – Ephesians 3:20
Makes these confessions.
- My God is the “more than enough” God.
- God’s incredible power is working in me today.
- I will pray big prayers to a big God.
- God’s overabundant power is available for every problem or challenge I face.
In Jesus name,
Amen
The God you serve is the abundant, overflowing God. So pray big prayers. Your God is big enough to handle it. (He’s actually more than enough.)
Friday – You Can Rest in the Love of God
We ended the week talking about the love of Christ. Jesus loves us as much as God loves Him. He invites us to live in the love He has for us.
We are to rest and “make ourselves at home” in the love of Christ.
Here’s the promise.
Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. – John 15:9
Make these confessions.
- Today, I will live connected to the love of Christ.
- Jesus loves me the way God loves Him.
- I am at home in the love of Christ.
- As I abide in Christ, His love flows through me.
In Jesus name,
Amen
As you abide in His love, His love flows through you to the world around you.
That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
