Today’s Promise
The Blood of Jesus Forgives My Sin
Matthew 26:27-28
And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.
Our Debt of Sin
We all have one thing in common, a sin debt toward God. Fortunately, when Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price for our sin and paid off our sin debt.
The night before His crucifixion, Jesus gathered the disciples together to observe the Passover. The Passover was the celebration of the night God’s judgment was sent against Egypt. God’s judgment required every first-born of Egypt to die. The death angel “passed-over” those homes who had sprinkled the blood of a sacrificed lamb on the doorposts of their houses.
In the middle of the meal, Jesus confessed that His blood would bring about the forgiveness of sin; He would become the sacrificial lamb. His blood would pave the way to a new relationship between God and man.
Jesus Paid the Debt
When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price for your sin. Each of us carries a sin debt against God. The Bible says we have all sinned. (Romans 3:23) That sin debt separates us from God and condemns us to an eternity away from Him.
The good news of the Gospel is that our sin has been forgiven. Imagine finding out how all a person’s credit card debt could be paid off, or how all their student loans could be forgiven. That would be incredible news and you would share it with everyone you know.
The wonderful message of the cross is that a person’s sin, guilt, and shame can be removed.
Your Sin is Forgiven
Because Jesus died on the cross and paid for your sin, the shame and guilt of your past have been erased. His blood broke down the barrier between you and God. You no longer have to carry the weight and regret of your sin, God placed your sin on Jesus, and He paid for your sin. Because your sin has been forgiven, you have a new and unhindered relationship with God.
Through faith in Christ, you know live free from the debt of your sin.
Look at the promise again.
And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. – Matthew 26:27-28
Make these confessions.
- The blood of Jesus has canceled my sin debt.
- The guilt, shame, and regret of my past have been removed by the blood of Jesus.
- When Jesus died on the cross, my sin was forgiven.
- There is now no barrier between God and me because of my sin.
- The barrier that separated God and me has been removed by the blood of Jesus.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Each day I start with the reading of The Daily Promise. Your message brings me closer to the Lord. It reminds me that Jesus loves ALL of us, and we are to be obedient to His will. Today’s troubling and challenging times confirms that God is ALWAYS in control, It’s very humbling. Your Daily Promise is a lighthouse amidst a storm, but the true “lighthouse keeper” is the Lord.
