The Holy Spirit Prays for Me
In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings.

If you have ever been uncertain of what to pray or not sure how to pray, then today’s promise is for you.
Sometimes you just aren’t sure what or how you should pray. Have you ever found yourself feeling as though you should pray but not knowing what to pray? Maybe you weren’t sure what God’s will was or what your next step should have been. Perhaps you were in such turmoil that the only prayer you could muster was “Jesus help me.”
Have you ever begun to pray, only to find you were at a loss of words? Maybe you wondered if you were using the right words or praying the right way.
I have great news for you. When you don’t know how to pray or don’t feel like you are praying correctly, this promise says the Holy Spirit prays for you.
In your weakest times, when you just don’t know how to pray, the Holy Spirit prays for you. He knows your heart and translates it to the Father.
The Spirit Intercedes
This promise says the Holy Spirit “intercedes” for you. That word means to come to the rescue or stand between two parties and bring them together. The Holy Spirit stands between you and God. He takes your intent and brings it to the Father in ways you can never understand.
When you don’t know what to pray, or you don’t know how to pray, you have the confidence that the Holy Spirit is praying on your behalf. When you can’t seem to get the words out, the Holy Spirit is taking the cry of your heart and bringing it to God the Father.
Look at that promise again.

Make these confessions.
- When I don’t know how to pray, the Holy Spirit prays for me.
- When I don’t know what I should pray for, God prays for me.
- In my weakest moments, the Holy Spirit is praying for me.
- When all I can do is cry out to God, the Holy Spirit knows my heart.
- Today, the Holy Spirit is helping me pray.
