Today’s Promise
Through His Blood, I Am Forgiven
Matthew 26:27-28
And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.
Forgiveness of Sin
The night before His crucifixion, Jesus gathered the disciples together to observe the Passover meal. During the meal, Jesus raised a cup and stated that His blood would bring forgiveness of sin and would bridge the gap between God and man.
Each of us carries a sin debt against God. The Bible says we have all sinned. (Romans 3:23) That sin debt separates us from God and condemns us to an eternity away from His presence. When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price for your sin and canceled your sin debt.
The Gospel
The good news of the Gospel is that our sin debt has been forgiven. Imagine discovering a way for a person’s debts to be forgiven. What if you learned a way for every credit card, car, or student loan to be erased? That would be incredible news and you would share it with everyone you know.
The wonderful message of the cross is that a person’s sin, guilt, and shame can be removed.
Guilt and Shame are Gone
Because Jesus died on the cross and paid for your sin, the shame and guilt of your past have been erased. His blood broke down the barrier between you and God. You no longer have to carry the weight and regret of your sin. God placed your sin on Jesus, and He paid for your sin. Because your sin has been forgiven, you have a new and unhindered relationship with God.
Through faith in Christ, you now live free from the debt of your sin.
Look at the promise again.
And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins. – Matthew 26:27-28
Make these confessions.
- The blood of Jesus has canceled my sin debt.
- The guilt, shame, and regret of my past have been removed by the blood of Jesus.
- When Jesus died on the cross, my sin was forgiven.
- There is no barrier between God and me.
- The barrier that separated me from God has been removed by the blood of Jesus.
In Jesus name,
Amen
