Today’s Promise

Throw Your Fears and Worries on the Lord

Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Life Can Change in an Instant

Sometimes you just never know what life is going to bring you. Three weeks ago, who would have guessed that most of the nation would be at home, and businesses across the country would be closed. In these uncertain and trying times, God has given us a promise. When we put our trust in Him, He will strengthen us and keep us secure.

This promise is repeated in 1 Peter 5:7. When God repeats Himself, you had better pay close attention because there’s a principle there you don’t want to take lightly.

The word “burden” in this promise means your lot in life or what life has brought to you.

I love how God says, “cast your burden.” It’s the picture of taking off a heavy backpack and throwing it to someone for them to carry.

Throw Your Burden on God

Instead of carrying all your worry, fear, and uncertainty, you can throw them all over to the Lord. When you cast your burden on the Lord, it is a confession of faith in Him. You are saying, “God, I trust you, and I know that you love me and will take care of me.” God always upholds those who place their trust in Him.

This promise says He will not let you be shaken. He will strengthen you through the storms and uncertainties of life. He will keep you in a safe and secure place.

God promised He would never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) You will not go through this alone. God is with you right now, by your side, encouraging and sustaining you.

What you are facing today may not change tomorrow, but God will give you hope courage, and determination to make it through what life has brought you.

Every day you have a choice, you can carry your burdens, or you can throw them into the Lord’s hands.

Look at that promise again.

Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. – Psalm 55:22

Make this confession

  • Right now, I throw all my burdens on the Lord.
  • I confess that He is my security, strength, and comfort.
  • He will never leave me or forsake me.
  • He will keep me on solid ground no matter what life throws my way.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Whatever life brings your way, you can give it to the Lord, knowing He will take care of you.

During these difficult times, let me encourage you to limit the amount of news you watch. You don’t need a moment-by-moment report on the status of the Coronavirus. It will increase your fear and rob your faith.

Instead, spend some extra time this week thinking on the promises God has given you. You might even want to listen to a few previous episodes of The Daily Promise to help build your faith. As you strengthen your faith, your fear will subside.

I am so sorry to hear. I think everyone is a little fearful these days. There’s nothing wrong with being afraid, it’s what you do with the fear that matters. Keep looking to the Lord, I’m praying for you.

I’m throwing my son and his wife on the Lord today for complete restoration of their marriage. They’ve been married 20 years.

I’m throwing everyone who has been and will be affected by this virus. Praying for all to cling and hold fast to our Savior. Praying for revival in our land. May all believers, who are called by His name, humble themselves and pray and seek His face and turn from their wicked ways, then He will hear from heaven, and He will forgive our sin and will heal our land.

As a nation we are far from God’s Truth…we are a nation of where anything goes. As believers may we turn back to God and begin to stand for His Truth. I pray for boldness and courage to stand firm with Him as my Guide. I praise God for all believers who have always stood firm in their faith in Jesus Christ! May we all be in unity of our Savior.
