Today’s Promise

Trust Me to Carry Your Burden

Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Uncertain Times

Sometimes you just never know what life is going to bring you. None of us could have imagined all the changes, problems, and concerns 2020 would bring.

In these uncertain and trying times, God gives us a promise. When we put our trust in Him, He will strengthen us and keep us secure.

This promise is repeated in 1 Peter 5:7. When God repeats Himself, you had better pay close attention. When a promise shows up in the Old Testament and the New Testament, you can be sure God doesn’t want you to miss it.

Your Burden

The word “burden” in this promise means your lot in life or what life has brought to you. We all have burdens that were thrust upon us. We didn’t deserve them or even see them coming, but here they are.

I love how God says, “cast your burden.” It’s the picture of taking off a heavy backpack and throwing it to someone for them to carry.

Instead of carrying all your worry, fear, and uncertainty, you can throw them all over to the Lord. When you cast your burden on the Lord, it is a confession of faith and trust in Him. You are saying, “God, I trust you. I know that you love me and will take care of me.” God always upholds those who place their trust in Him.

You Will Not be Shaken

This promise says He will not let you be shaken. He will be your solid rock. He will strengthen you through the storms and uncertainties of life and keep you safe and secure.

Hebrews 13:5 says that God will never leave you or forsake you. You don’t have to carry your burdens alone. God is with you right now, by your side, encouraging and sustaining you.

What you are facing today may not change tomorrow, but God will give you hope, courage, and determination to make it through what life brings.

Every day you have a choice, you can carry your burdens, or you can throw them into the Lord’s hands.

Look at that promise again.

Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. – Psalm 55:22

Make these confessions

  • Right now, I throw all my burdens on the Lord.
  • I confess that He is my security, strength, and comfort.
  • He will never leave me or forsake me.
  • He will keep me on solid ground no matter what life throws my way.

In Jesus name,
Amen

With the politics the way they stand today, the Lord is truly the only one we can depend on. Believe that! He is love, justice, and so many things. We just need to lean on him and he will be there beside us as we walk through difficulties and lesson the stress because of our faith. Without him, the world we live in and some of the people in it can pull us down with no hope. God bless.
