You Can Trust the Promises of God
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23
The Bible is filled with promises from God. We can claim these promises because we know He is faithful to keep them.
Promises Worth Claiming
Every promise of God is worth claiming. When God makes a promise, you can be confident He will fulfill it. The basis of our faith is God’s faithfulness in keeping His promises.
God’s faithfulness is part of His character. Because we know He is faithful, we can claim the promises He has made.
A twenty-dollar bill is worth twenty dollars because it is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government. A twenty-dollar bill is worth twenty dollars because the United States Government says it is.
God’s Character Guarantees Each Promise
God’s character and holiness back every one of His promises. God can no more fail to fulfill a promise than He can fail to be God. God backs every promise with His standing as the great creator God.
Hold Onto the Promises
As a believer, you can hold fast to His promise because you know God will fulfill it. God has never failed to fulfill any promise made to His people.
Faith is holding on to God’s promises. As you hold on to God’s promises, He strengthens and upholds you.
As you hold fast to the promises of God, you see God fulfilling each of His promises in your life.
- You know your sins are forgiven, and you stand before God as His child.
- You know that one day, Jesus will return for His people.
- You know that you will see Jesus face to face and spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
- You know that one day, God will establish His kingdom here on earth forever.
- You know that one day, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.
- How do you know these things? Because God has promised.
Look at that promise again.

God has always been true to his promises with me.
God is faithful😇🙏👍
What a comfort and strength these promises are to us. When God promises, He takes it very seriously. He states in Jer.1:12, He watches over His Word to perform it.
I have had clinical depression for the past 50 years and early on it was not treated correctly. Forty years ago I didn’t think I could handle it any longer and decided to take my life. God intervened with his promise at 1 Corinthians 10:13. “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” God was faithful and he does keep his promises.
