You Have the Holy Spirit in You

The Holy Spirit is in You
Before Jesus went to be with the Father, He promised the Holy Spirit to all who believed. So today, we celebrate the Holy Spirit Christ promised us.
When you gave your heart to Christ, the Holy Spirit took up residence in you. Everything God is doing in your life today, He does through the Holy Spirit.
Here are seven quick things God is doing through the Holy Spirit in you.
- He makes you His temple. In 1 Corinthians 6:19, the Apostle Paul says that you are the temple of God because the Holy Spirit dwells in you.
- He empowers you to share the Gospel. Acts 1:8 says that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will empower you to share the Gospel with others.
- He convicts you of sin and leads you back to God. When you sin, the Holy Spirit convicts you of your sin, leads you to repentance, and restores your fellowship with God.
- He grows the fruit of the Spirit within you. The Fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22 are the natural result of living filled with the Holy Spirit. The fruits of the Spirit are not something you work on but the result of the Holy Spirit freely working in your life.
- He reminds you that you are His child. Romans 8:15 says that you have received a spirit of adoption. You are a child of God.
- He speaks to you. As you listen for His voice, the Holy Spirit will speak, lead, and direct you. Jesus promised in John 16:3 that the Spirit would guide and reveal the heart of God to you.
- He brings the Holiness of Christ in you. Galatians 5:16 says that if we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, we won’t carry out our sinful desires. His presence in you brings about holy living.
Even with all these incredible blessings, many Christians undervalue the Holy Spirit in their lives. Some Christians are even afraid of the Holy Spirit. Don’t ignore the Holy Spirit. He is a gift from the Lord Jesus. Celebrate His presence in you.
Look at that promise once again.
Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. – John 7:39
Make these confessions.
- I have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me.
- I have the fruit of the Spirit growing in me.
- I am empowered to be a witness for Christ.
- The Holy Spirit convicts me of sin so I can walk in obedience to Christ.
