Today’s Promise

You Have Victory Over the Devil

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
James 4:7

Victory Over Satan

Satan may come against you, but according to today’s promise, he will flee when you resist him.

Today, you will come face to face with a temptation or an attack of the devil. Every day he brings custom-made temptations and spiritual attacks your way.

The Bible describes Satan as a roaring lion who goes about looking for those he can devour. He wants to distract, discourage, and destroy you. Jesus described Satan as one who kills, steals, and destroys.

However, as a follower of Christ, you have guaranteed victory over Satan if you follow this promise’s three simple steps.

  1. Submit to God – The beginning point of authority, protection, and power is submitting to God. Submission is laying everything at His feet as Lord and Master. It is giving up control and giving Him full control of every area of your life.
  2. Resist the Devil – “Resist” is a military term, and it’s the picture of a soldier standing his ground against an enemy. You will never find victory over the devil or temptation if you don’t resist. If you don’t hold your ground, Satan will walk over you and destroy everything you are and everything you have. Resisting the devil is a confession of your submission to God. When you resist the devil, you draw a line and say no further. You confess who you are in Christ and the power you have in Him. Resisting the devil is living out your submission to Christ.
  3. Satan Will Flee – With God in your corner, Satan is not interested in a fight. He will back down and back away as he sees the power of God flowing through you. The roaring lion who intimidated you a few minutes early will run away like a stray cat. His fearful roar will sound like a kitten’s meow.

So many Christians live in defeat to temptation and the attack of Satan. As you submit yourself to God and resist Satan, you will walk in victory over the enemy, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Review this promise again.

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. – James 4:7

Make these confessions.

  • In Jesus’ name, I have victory over the devil.
  • I submit myself to the will and leadership of Christ.
  • I stand against the attack of Satan in my life.
  • I claim the victory God has promised me over Satan.
  • I know Satan will flee as I resist him.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

You don’t have to walk in defeat to Satan’s attack. Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from You.

The battle of if something is heavy on my mind just surrendering it to Jesus, not being anxious about anything but give it to our Lord and truly surrendering it🙏

This morning I resisted the temptation to open up social media as I was doing my devotions and God blessed that time.
