Today’s Promise

Your Key to Success

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Joshua 1:8

God’s Success Principle

God’s Word is filled with success principles. If you obey His Word, He will bless you with success.

Amazon lists over 80,000 books related to success. With all those opinions, how can you really know the right path to success? In this promise, God gives us His success principle.

Joshua was facing the greatest challenge of his life. How could he lead the Children of God to conquer and settle the promised land that stood before them?

God gives Joshua a three-step process for achieving success and prosperity. Although these steps are simple, they will take a lifetime to accomplish.

1. Keep God’s Word Close

The starting point for success is God’s Word. God’s Word is filled with principles for living. God says, “It shall not depart from your mouth.” This means don’t forget it or allow it to become the second place in your life. Keep it in the forefront of your mind and heart.

2. Meditate on God’s Word

Meditating on God’s Word is spending time thinking and considering it. Meditating on God’s Word is not sitting in the Lotus position with your eyes closed, humming to yourself.

Meditating is contemplating on God’s Word and allowing it to become part of your life. It is allowing God to move His Word from your head to your heart.

3. Obey God’s Word

Knowing and thinking about God’s Word is just the beginning. If you don’t obey God’s Word, then it is just a waste of time. However, as you walk in obedience to His Word, He will lead and direct your path.

As you discover, meditate, and obey God’s Word, the Holy Spirit will lead you through your day. The principles of God’s Word become part of your thinking and living. As you walk in obedience, God is able to bless you. You will see new and exciting opportunities arise and walk in God’s favor and blessing.

Let me encourage you to begin your success journey by meditating on this verse today. Claim this promise that as you put the Word of God into your life and obey it completely, you will walk in success and prosperity.

Look at that promise again.

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. – Joshua 1:8

Make these confessions.

  • I will keep God’s Word close to my heart and life.
  • I will spend time each day thinking about God’s Word.
  • I will obey the commands and principles I read in the Bible.
  • As I meditate on God’s Word, He will bless me and bring success and prosperity.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Those who meditate and obey God’s Word will walk in the favor and blessings of God. They will find success as they do all God commands them.
