Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.
We all face the wilderness where we don’t know which way to go or what to do next. Instead of wandering through the desert, God promises a highway and a river.
Life in the Wilderness
When you are in the wilderness, confusion is the word of the day. You aren’t sure which way to go, and it seems like every path brings you right back to where you started. There is little fruit for your labor no matter what you do, and life feels like one long treadmill session. You work hard but get nowhere.
When you are in the desert, the things that once brought you joy are now lifeless shades of gray. In the desert, there is weariness in life. Just putting one foot in front of the other takes everything you’ve got. There is a thirst for more, but nothing satisfies.
God makes a promise when you are in the wilderness and the desert. When you don’t know which way to go, God promises direction. While the rest of the world stumbles in confusion, God gives you a highway of clarity.
In the heat and dryness of the desert, God brings you a river of refreshing life. While everyone around you is weary and thirsty, you can splash and swim in the river of life.
When you face your wilderness, call on the Lord. Don’t stumble in the darkness and confusion. Call out to the One who gives you direction and makes a clear path through the never-ending monotony of the wilderness.
When the dryness of the desert comes, cry out to Jesus for the refreshing rivers of living water He promised. He will fill you with living water that comes flowing out of your innermost being.
Look at that promise again.
Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. – Isaiah 43:19
Make these confessions.
Jesus is my road in the wilderness.
When I don’t know what to do, He provides guidance and direction.
In the desert, He is my source of refreshment.
In Jesus’ Name,
You don’t have to wander hopelessly when you experience the wilderness. God will give you a highway of clarity. In the desert, He will fill you with His refreshing, living water.
