Today’s Promise

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. – Isaiah 26:3

God promises you perfect peace; supernatural peace that goes beyond your situation. A constant and lasting peace that is not affected by the world around you. It is an inward and outward peace that only comes from God. It is a peace that is beyond understanding.

Peace is a hard thing to come by these days. Just a few minutes online or watching the news can have you feeling like the world is coming apart at the seams. It seems as though everyone is under some sort of pressure these days.

But as you put your trust in the Lord, God fills you with His perfect peace.

Perfect peace is not about what we are going through or our situation. It is about the confidence that God is in control.

Perfect peace is the picture of a little baby sleeping in its mother’s arms in the middle of a noisy subway. There may be commotion and noise all around, but the baby sleeps contently. There is no worry because she knows her mother will keep and protect her.

One translation begins this verse with, “You will guard him and keep in him in peace.” God not only gives us his perfect peace, He guards and protects that peace.

There are two conditions to this promise.

First, you must keep your minds stayed on Him. So often we set our focus on our problems and fears instead of the Lord. God wants your focus to be Him throughout your day.

Second, you must trust in Him. Trusting God is putting your faith, confidence, and hope in Him alone. As you place your complete trust and assurance is Christ, His peace will fill you.

God promises that Peace will be the characteristic of your life as you learn to place your trust and focus on Him.

Let’s review that promise one more time.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you. Isa. 26:3

Confess this with me,

In Jesus Christ, I have perfect, supernatural peace.
As I put my complete faith and trust in Him
He will fill me with His Peace
God is protecting and keeping His perfect peace within me.
I have the perfect peace of God no matter what I may face.
Jesus is giving me perfect peace today.

In Jesus Name I claim this.

Amen

I sometimes tend to push that panic button when something goes wrong. I have to stop and remind myself that God is with me and I can have peace if I just keep my eye on Him.

The enemy always wants us to look at our circumstances so they seem insurmountable. When we focus on God’s goodness we remain in peace.

      Ben,
That’s a great word. The more we look at our situation, the weaker our faith becomes.

I become impatient and walk by sight and not by faith. When I take my focus off of Jesus and center on what I am going through or my emotions, I don’t experience the peace of God. I then become fearful and that is not of God.

The worries of not being able to pay our bills and fix our vehicle. Being blind or unsure in trusting that God has us and will always be there helping is thru it all.

I find this all very hard at present. My wife & I are having time apart and I feel lots of despair and gut wrenching emotions.

      Murray,
I am so sorry for what you are going through. I know things can be tough at times, but I also know God is faithful and He will see you through this. Praying for You!

God offers peace & its 100% fact that we truly do focus on the storms more than who provides the shelter. To me having the peace only God can provide is truly a strong stand in faith. Thank you B.T. for another great reminder. Always requesting prayers for my marriage. When God is in the middle there will always be peace. God bless you.
