Today’s Promise

I Have Eternal Life

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.– John 5:24

The most significant promise in the Bible is the promise of Eternal Life. It is this promise that compelled early Christians to share the “Good New” to the then known world. It is this promise that empowered Christians throughout history to give their lives for the sake of the Gospel. It is this promise that brings peace and satisfaction into the hearts of Christians today.

There is no fear of death for the Christian. We know that when we close our eyes in death, we will open them in the presence of God. He will welcome us into heaven, and we’ll spend eternity in his Presence.

Jesus came to give eternal life to those who would place their trust in Him. Eternal life is the final fulfillment of His promise of abundant life. Eternal life is never-ending, abundant life.

Every person is separated from God because of their sin. Every person will stand before God and give an account of their life. We will either pay the penalty for our sin, separated from God for all eternity or by faith allow Christ to make payment for us. His death on the cross brought about forgiveness of our sin and restoration of our relationship with God. His death made way for us to have eternal life.

In Jesus Christ, we have passed from death into life. Eternal life with God, in Christ.

Let’s review that verse again.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. – John 5:24 –

Confess this with me.

Because I have put my faith in Christ
I have eternal life
I have passed from death to life.
Jesus promised eternal life to those who put their trust in Him
I have no fear of death because I know I have eternal life
When I die, I will spend eternity with the Lord
and will enjoy all the wonders of heave with Him.
In Jesus Name, Amen

Jesus promised…Eternal life to those who put their trust in Him. My trust is in Him, therefore I will not fear death of this earthly body. To be absent from this body is to be…present with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
