Today’s Promise

Psalm 119:73

Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments.

There is something special that separates you from the rest of the animal kingdom. Sure you share much of the same genetic material, but this one distinction makes you unique. You were fashioned by the hand of God.

The world would have you believe you are merely an accidental combination of two DNA strands that your life is nothing more than happenchance. God’s word tells an entirely different story.

You are the result of a loving God, carefully crafting you for His purposes. “Fashioned” is the picture of a sculpture carefully molding a lump of clay until it is just the perfect size and shape for his purposes.

God didn’t just make you and say, “Good enough.” God careful crafted you until you were just perfect for the work and purpose He has for you.

Today you can celebrate who you and what you look like because God created and fashioned you. You are his handiwork.

So many people never learn to accept themselves. They spend their lives wishing they were someone else. The look in the mirror and wish they were taller or shorter, had straight hair or curly hair. They think they could like themselves is they had a smaller nose or weighed less.

However, when you understand that you are just the way God intended you to be, you can accept and celebrate who you are. The screwdriver and the hammer look different because each has a different purpose. God created you for a purpose, and He made you to fit that purpose.

Instead of wishing you were taller, shorter, thinner, or heavier, why not celebrate the fact that God made you the way you are so you would fit perfectly into His plan for your life.

Let’s review that promise one more time.

Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments. – Psalm 119:73

Today, celebrate who you are because you were fashioned by the hand of God.

Confess this after me.

I am handwork of God
He made me with a purpose and a plan
I am not an accident, I am created.
I was created according to His specifications for His purpose.
I am made according to His desire, and His desire is for my good.
Today I celebrate who God fashioned and created me.

In Jesus Name,
Amen
