Today’s Promise

My Sin is a White as Snow

Isaiah 1:18

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

This promise begins with an invitation.

God invites you to come to Him with your sin. When you sin, the last person you want to talk to is God. So often, when you sin, you hide from God. You feel guilty and shameful and are afraid to come before Him. Even in your sin, He invites you to come and sit before for Him.

It’s as if God is saying, “Let’s get together and talk about this sin thing.” I have a solution for your sin. There is nothing you have done that I haven’t dealt with before. He knows your guilt and shame and invites you to come and experience forgiveness. You can carry your sin, or allow Him to forgive you and cleanse you from your sin. When you come to Him, he offers forgiveness and cleaning.

I love the comparison in the second part of this promise.

God uses two colors to describe our sin; scarlet and crimson. These two colors of deep red were used to dye and stain cloth. Sin stains your heart and your spirit. Only God can take a heart stained blood red and make it as white as snow. No matter how deep, ugly, and dark, your sin is, it can be forgiven, forgotten, and cleansed. God can take your sin and change it from the deep red of crimson to the pure white of snow.

Through the blood of Christ, God invites you to live in the forgiveness of His love. Your heart can be purified, cleansed, and restored.

Let’s review this promise one more time.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. – Isaiah 1:18

Confess this with me.

God invites me to come to Him with my sin.
God not only forgives my sin but makes my heart pure again.
As I come to God, I can find cleansing of my sin.
No matter how dark my sin is, God can make it as white as snow.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Instead of running from God when you sin, come to Him with your sin. He will forgive your sin and cleanse your heart.

Amen , end of story? Not quite, even though our sin has been forgiven the consequences of that sin still remain. But with Gods help we can deal with those consequences and use our story to help others. I pray that God will deliver peace to those who have been hurt because of my sin. Their pain is a constant reminder of the need for Gods love and Grace in my life.

Sin always causes pain. Pain for ourselves and pain for others. Praise the Lord my sin is forgiven. Thanks for reminding us that God is with us through the consequences of our sin and the sin of others.
