Today’s Promise

God Will Complete His Work in Me

Philippians 1:6

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

What God began in your life, He will complete.

It’s easy to think the Christian life is all about what I need to do. I need to study the Bible more. I need to pray more, I need to share my faith, I need to be more sensitive, and the list goes on and on and on. However, the Christian life is really about God working in me.

If you looked back on your walk with God, I’m sure you would see how God has worked in your life, time, and time again. There were times when you drifted away from Him, and He used a situation or a person to bring you back to Himself. There was a financial need that God met at the very last minute. Even during the most challenging times, God was working in your life.

If God has done all this for you, do you really think He is going to let you down now?

Some translations begin this verse with, “Since I am confident…”  Paul was absolutely confident that God was going to complete His work in the lives of the Christians in Philippi.

I am absolutely convinced that God is going to finish His work in you as well.

The work God is doing in you is a good work. You may not understand it, or even believe it, but every day, God is working in your life to make you more like Jesus. Even when you are resisting His work, He is working behind the scenes to bring you back into full fellowship.

The word “perform” means to carry through. God is going to keep working in your life until you are complete in Him. He is not going to give up on you until you are mature in Christ.

Let’s review that verse one more time.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6

Confess this with me.

What God began in my life, He will complete.
Every day He is working to make me more like Jesus.
He has brought me this far, He is not going to quit on me now.
I am confident that He will complete His work in me.

In Jesus name,
Amen

God is working in your life and will continue working until He has completed you in Christ Jesus.

    Is the first “not” correct?

Thanks for catching that, I’ll make the correction.

Praising the Lord for never giving up on me, and to know He will continue working in me until the day of Christ Jesus!

This Word gives me strength to never give up on God because he won’t give up on me! He’s Faithful!
