Today’s Promise

I Have Eternal Life

John 5:24

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

The greatest promise of God is the promise of Eternal Life.

It was this promise that compelled early Christians to share the “Good News of the Gospel” to the then known world. It was this promise that empowered Christians throughout history to give their lives for the sake of the Gospel. It is this promise that brings peace and satisfaction into your heart today.

As a Christian, you have no fear of death. You know that when you close your eyes in death, you will open them in the presence of God. He will welcome you into heaven, and you’ll spend eternity in His Presence.

Jesus came to give eternal life to those who would place their trust in Him.

Eternal life is the final fulfillment of His promise of abundant life. Eternal life is unending, abundant life.

Every person is separated from God because of their sin. Every person will stand before God and give an account of their life. You will either pay the penalty for your sin, separated from God for all eternity or by faith allow Christ to make payment for you. His death on the cross brings about forgiveness of your sin and restoration of your relationship with God. His death made a way for you to have eternal life.

In Jesus Christ, you have passed from death into life. Eternal life with God, in Christ.

Let’s review that verse again.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. – John 5:24

Confess this with me.

Because I have put my faith in Christ, I have eternal life
I have passed from death into life.
I have no fear of death because I know I have eternal life.
When I die, I will spend eternity with the Lord and will enjoy all the wonders of heaven with Him.

In Jesus Name,
Amen
