Today’s Promise

God Will Wipe Away All My Tears

Revelation 21:4

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

This promise sits right in the middle of the Apostle John’s description of the new heaven and earth. The old heaven and earth will pass away, and the kingdom of God will be with men. God will finally dwell with His people, and we will live in the uninterrupted presence of God. As part of this new earth, God will wipe away every tear, pain, and sorrow. Fear, regret, and mourning will all pass away.

Today we live in a world of pain, suffering, and death.

We seem surrounded by human suffering. All of us have shed our share of teats and experienced grief, disappointment, and mourning. No one is isolated from the struggle and hurt of living on planet earth.

As a Christian, you look forward to a new day.

A day when Jesus returns to establish His kingdom on earth. An earth that has been transformed.

There is coming a day when all pain, all sorrow, and even death will pass away. Like a mother comforting her child, God will wipe away every tear you have ever shed. The pain and hurt of the past will be removed, as God does a new thing in your heart and in the world around you.

The sorry and pain you experience today will not last. It’s a temporary experience connected to a world that is passing away. One day, Jesus Himself will wipe away your every tear, soothe your sorrow, and bring a new level of joy and peace you have never experienced.

You have hope because one today, Jesus will dry every tear you have ever shed and welcome you into His presence forever.

Look at that promise once again.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. – Revelation 21:4

Make this confession today.

One day God will wipe away my every tear.
The suffering of today will not last.
When Jesus comes, sorrow, regret, and pain will pass away.
I will dwell in His perfect peace and joy for all eternity.

In Jesus Name,
Amen.
