Today’s Promise

My Name is Written in Heaven

Luke 10:20

Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

Jesus was saying the most important thing in this life, is knowing where you will spend the next life.

Compared to eternity, this life is just a vapor. Like the fog coming from your breath on a cold day; it only lasts an instant.

The disciples had just returned from a mission trip where they saw many people healed and delivered. As they celebrated what happened, Jesus reminded them that God using them was great, but the real blessing was knowing their name was written in heaven.

If you have placed your faith in Christ, your name is written in heaven.

A few years ago, my wife and I were checking into a hotel late at night. The couple before of us asked the front desk clerk if there were any rooms. The desk clerk said, “I am sorry. We are all full.” As the couple stepped away, I said, “Hi, I have a reservation, my name is Billy Taylor.” The clerk smiled and said, “Yes, Mister Taylor, your room is ready.

You can rejoice today because your reservation in heaven has been confirmed.

Through your faith in Christ, you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that when you close your eyes in death, you will open them in the presence of God in heaven.

You don’t have to fear death. Christ has a place for you in heaven. We don’t know all the details, but we know it will be in the presence of God, with no pain or death, and every tear will be wiped away. You will experience unconditional love, acceptance, and wholeness like never before.

You can celebrate all the beautiful blessings God has poured out on you. You can praise Him for your friends, family, and a thousand other things. But the greatest blessing is knowing your name is written down in heaven, and when you close your eyes in death, you will enter heaven for all eternity.

Look at that promise once again.

Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. – Luke 10:20

Make this confession.

My name is written in heaven.
I will spend eternity in the presence of God in heaven.
Nothing can separate me from my eternal home.
I do not fear death because I know where I will spend eternity.

In Jesus name,
Amen

    Billy,
The Lord saved me at age 7, and I was baptized at age 9. I am sure of my salvation that He has provided for me.Growing up in a minister’s family, and being under the guidance of scripture my entire life, I can say that I know that I know that I know that I am saved beyond any doubt. I truly enjoy reading/listening to your daily devotionals.
