Give Thanks in Everything
In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give Thanks
Can we be thankful for everything that comes in our lives? We can be thankful even in difficult times because we know God is in control and working things for our good.
God calls you to a life of thankfulness. Just a few minutes of giving thanks for the blessings God has given you can completely transform your attitude and outlook.
You can be thankful for friends, family, health, and prosperity. You can still be grateful even if you are going through a difficult time.
Compared to many places and people in the world, you are extremely blessed by God. If you have a roof over your head and food in your pantry, you are better off than much of the world. According to World Vision, 815,000,000 people will go to bed hungry tonight. Almost half the world’s population survives on less than $2.50 a day.
You have so much to be thankful for.
God calls each of us to a life of thankfulness. A thankful person is a humble person. A proud person will never be a thankful person.
When you walk in thankfulness, you confess that God is the source of all you have. When you are thankful, you humble yourself by confessing; it’s not all about you.
Give Thanks in Everything
God calls you to give thanks in everything. Giving thanks in everything is not giving thanks for everything. It’s hard to be thankful for a flat tire, a negative doctor’s report, or a difficult marriage.
However, you can give thanks in those situations because you know God is still in control.
You can be thankful that He works for your good and will never forsake you.
You can be thankful for what God will do in this challenging situation.
A Thankful Attitude
Thankfulness is an attitude. It is confessing that all you have and all you are comes from the Lord.
Giving thanks is a confession that God is good, and He takes care of His children.
Look at that promise again.
In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Make these confessions.
- I thank God for pouring out His blessings on me.
- I will spend a few moments every day expressing my thankfulness.
- God is the source of all I need.
- I thank God in every situation because I know He is working for my good.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
Today, you can be thankful because you know God is working in your life as your protector and provider.

What are 3 things you can be thankful for right now? (Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.)
This is so timely for me. Just this morning out walking I said ok God I am gonna thank you in the things that don’t appear to be good right now like being stuck with no help/solutions for me in regards to my mom and how I have been her FT caregiver for 4 yrs now and not seeing my son 28 yrs old walking with the Lord and not hearing from a dear loved one and broken relationship. BUT your reminder that God IS in control and to have anticipation for what God WILL DO in these challenging situations really helps me to have a better perspective and renewed my hope today. Thank you.
I am Thankful that GOD PREDESTINATED MY LIFE FOR HIS GOOD WILL & Purpose.

Though the situation seems hopeless at the moment on personal, financial, family and professional front, I believe You are in control and I thank you in everything for I know I am not alone. I thank you for a caring, understanding wife, an income to sustain ourselves and a roof over my head.
