Today’s Promise

June 12, 2023

God Delivers You From Every Enemy

The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their stronghold in the time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them because they take refuge in him.
Psalm 37:39-40

Every day, Satan brings a host of spiritual attacks your way. No matter what enemy you face, God promises He will deliver you.

Spiritual Attack

Do you ever feel like the enemy has you in his sights? Ever feel like you walk around with a spiritual target on your back? When the enemy comes, you have one you can run to and find shelter, protection, and safety.

As a Christian, your salvation is in the Lord. You know when we die, you’re going to see Jesus face-to-face and enjoy the wonders of heaven for all eternity. However, God is not just your future salvation. He is your deliverer amid today’s battle.

You have a stronghold when you face challenging times and spiritual enemies. A stronghold is a fortified place of refuge. For example, in King David’s day, a stronghold was a city with high walls, towers, and a large gated entrance. When the enemy attacked, the citizens would run into the fortress and close the gate. There they would find protection from the attack.

Your Stronghold

You have that strong fortress where you can take refuge when the enemy attacks you. Satan may come against you, but you have the protection of your Heavenly Father’s care. You never have to fear the attack of the enemy because Jesus is your stronghold. All you need do is run to Him.

When you take refuge in the Lord, He promises to deliver you from the wicked and the wicked one. Satan cannot touch you as you take shelter in the stronghold of the Lord.

Today, don’t live in fear. Walk in faith, knowing God is your protection.

Look at that promise one more time.

The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him. – Psalm 37:39-40

Make these confessions.

  • My salvation comes only from the Lord.
  • I take refuge in the Name of the Lord.
  • When I face a spiritual attack, He delivers me from the enemy’s hand.
  • I am safe and secure because God is my protection.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

In the heat of the battle, God provides a refuge and stronghold. Run to Him to find safety and protection.

God CONTINUALLY delivers me, because the enemy’s attacks are ongoing. God has delivered me from illness through healing, from difficult circumstances with special needs family member by providing a way where none was apparent, and He delivers from discouragement and the lies of the enemy with truth revealed through his Holy Spirit. God is forever my stronghold and refuge!

God has delivered me from feeling hopeless, anxious and being filled with despair….despite news of hubby’s health and my own. I still believe that He is a miracle worker and healing is on the way! I choose NOT to fear and TRUST in Him! Just last night the enemy attacked me with fear…..I immediately plead the blood of Jesus–brought every negative/unnatural thought “into captivity”…”abiding under the shadow of The Almighty” and slept peacefully! I refuse to let the emotion of fear given to us by God for our protection, to be hijacked by the enemy and used against us as a “spirit of fear”! Reading this Promise today (this morning) was my “affirmation”! Thank you! Our God is awesome!
