For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.
God Fights For You
As the Children of Israel prepared to enter the promised land, they knew they would face new and powerful enemies. Moses gives them instructions on how to face the battle and how to prepare for war.
Moses told the people not to be afraid because they carried two secret weapons when they went into battle. God will be with them, and God will fight for them.
They would not enter the battle alone. God would be right there, in the battle with them.
How Can You be Afraid?
How could they be afraid, knowing that the God who opened the Red Sea would fight their battles for them? They would not win the battle by their strength or their military strategy. Since God would fight for them, He would bring victory.
Moses ends this verse with another promise. God would save them. They could enter any battle, knowing victory was their’s because God would save them.
You Will Face a Battle
Today, you will enter into a battle. Instead of the battlefield, it may be at the office, school, or even in your home. Every physical conflict has a spiritual battle going on in the heavenliness. Take a moment to see with your spiritual eyes the actual battle going on before you.
Instead of responding with fear and dread, remember God is with you. You have a better promise than with the Children of Israel. God is not only with you. He is in you. You can never be separated from the presence of God.
Second, He will fight for you. It’s not about your strength or your ability, but God’s strength and power in you. Think about this for a minute. Every enemy you face, you face with God at your side, and He will do the fighting for you.
God Will Save You
Finally, God will save you. The battle is easier when you know the outcome. No matter how fierce the enemy, God has promised to save you. He will not let you be defeated but will lead you to victory.
There is never a reason for fear or worry. God stands with you in every challenge and in every battle. You can have new confidence knowing God has promised to save you.
Today, you will enter into spiritual warfare. Don’t be afraid. God is with you, and He will fight for you. He will bring victory and save you.
Look at that promise again.
For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory. – Deuteronomy 20:4
Make these confessions.
Every battle I face is a spiritual battle.
As I face every battle, God is with me and in me.
It’s not about my strength, but God’s strength in me.
God fights my battles for me and always brings me victory.
In Jesus name,
You never face a battle alone. God is with you and fights your battles for you. He promises to save you from every enemy.
