Today’s Promise

God Leads Me Day by Day

Isaiah 30:21

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.

God Promises to Lead You

God promises to lead and guide you in the way you should go. All you need to do is listen for his voice and be obedient to Him.

We have all played the game where one person is blindfolded, and the other person gives them instructions on where to go or what to do. This is a perfect picture of how God leads us. He is directing and guiding you step by step.

Before we go further, let me remind you that God wants to lead you. Throughout the Bible, God promises to lead, direct, and guide those who put their faith and trust in Him.

The Problem

One of the problems we face is that God rarely shows us the destination. Like our GSP, God usually gives just the nest step. By faith, we respond to his leadership for the next step. We may not know where He is leading, but we do know the next step He has given.

Imagine God standing behind you, telling you when to turn left, when to turn right and when to continue going straight. God promises this type of guidance.

The second problem we face is that to hear God’s instruction. You have to listen for His voice. I have never heard God speak to me with my ears, but I have heard Him speak to my heart with absolute clarity. You must tune your spiritual ears to hear his voice.

Listening for His Voice

By walking in fellowship with the Lord and listening to His voice, you can be confident that He will lead and direct your path. The more you listen for His voice, the more you will recognize and hear His voice.

Throughout your day, take a moment to tune your ears to His voice and to connect with Him. If you are uncertain of your next step, ask the Lord for direction and clarity.

Look at that promise again.

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. – Isaiah 30:21

Make these confessions.

  • God desires to lead and direct me through the day.
  • I am blind to the world around me and need God’s guidance.
  • As I tune my ears to His voice, I will hear Him more clearly.
  • God may not show me the final destination, but He will show me the next step.

In Jesus name,
Amen
