God Will Fulfill His Plan

My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.
Isaiah 46:10

God is in Control

God is in control. He is not sitting back watching the world but actively accomplishing His plan for creation.

When you look at all the problems the world is facing, it’s easy to let fear fill your heart. No matter how much nations talk, war often seems inevitable. Unknown pathogens, corruption, and crime make it easy to wonder if God is really in control.

Before creation began, God had a master plan for this universe. He didn’t just wind up creation like an old clock, then sit back to watch it run down.

God Has a Plan

God has been moving the world forward from the beginning to His conclusion.

We may not understand why God allows one nation to prosper and another to fail. We can’t imagine why He allows evil empires to exist, but He is in control.

Proverbs 21:1 says that God holds the king’s heart in His hand, and He directs it according to His will.

The Heart of the King

A ruler may have incredible power and seem to be in absolute control of his country, but God still controls his heart. God moves Him as needed to accomplish His plan. A leader may declare his independence from God, but that doesn’t stop God from working. Nothing happens in this world that God has not given His stamp of approval.

Nothing happens in your life that God hasn’t approved. Just as God accomplishes His master plan in the world, He is accomplishing His master plan in you. You may not see it, but God is fulfilling His perfect will for you. He takes pleasure in bringing about His good plan in your life.

If your heart is full of fear or worries about the future, relax; God has things under control. If you are overwhelmed by the direction the world seems to be going, remember God is fulfilling His master plan for creation.

If you have fear and doubts about your future, remember that God is accomplishing His master plan in your life.

Look at that verse again.

My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure. – Isaiah 46:10

Make these confessions.

  • God is working in the world to accomplish His good will.
  • God is working in my life to accomplish his will in me.
  • I will not fear because God is in control.
  • I confess my dependence on Him so, He can fulfill His master plan in me.

In Jesus’ Name
Amen

You don’t always see God’s hand working. He often works in the background both in the world and your life to bring about His good will. You can leave your fear and worry behind because God is in control.

I am very confused by your comment that nothing happens in this world that God has not given His stamp of approval. It is hard for me to process God giving His stamp of approval on EVERYTHING that happens in this world. I think it’s more the result of a fallen world and that God has given us free will and doesn’t force himself on anyone. The bad things in this world are a direct result of this. Can you please explain what you mean because I’m having trouble with the thought that God would give approval with an innocent child being sexually abused or murdered or a person suffering from cancer.

Thank you for any clarity you can provide on your comment.

Thank you for the question. God reigns supreme over the universe. We live in a sinful, fallen world. Adam’s sin brought death and destruction into the world; however, God had a plan for redemption from the beginning. I agree that understanding the balance of God’s sovereignty and man’s free will is difficult. Theologians have been debating it for hundreds of years.
When I say everything that happens has God’s approval, it doesn’t mean He is causing it or is in agreement with it. He has given his consent for the consequences of sin to be lived out in our world. For the Christian, we can be confident that even when bad things happen, they are not beyond God’s ability to use them for our good. God is never surprised by the actions of our world. He is moving the world forward to His desired conclusion. Prophecy will be fulfilled, and His kingdom will be established.
Hopefully, I haven’t made the water muddier. This is such a big topic to address in such a short amount of space.
