Today’s Promise

God Will Never Leave or Forsake You

Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you.
Hebrews 13:5

When you feel like the world has turned its back on you, there is one who has promised never to leave or forsake you.

Forsaken

At one time or another, we’ve all had the painful experience of being forsaken. Maybe it was a friend who shared hurtful things about you with others. Perhaps it was a co-worker or business partner who stabbed you in the back. Maybe a spouse was unfaithful or simply decided they wanted out of the marriage. Whatever the situation when you are forsaken, it cuts to the very core of your being.

The emotional trauma of being forsaken can last a lifetime and make it difficult to trust others.

Though some may forsake or forget you, God promises He will never forget or turn His back on you. Though everyone else may turn against you, God will never leave you.

God is With You

God made this same promise to many of the great leaders of the Bible. He promised Moses, Joshua, David, and Solomon, just to name a few. These men did mighty things for God because they knew He would be with them.

God also made the promise to a young prodigal who left his family and lived a life of sinful pleasure. God met this young man on the backside of a pig farm and reminded him that his father would never forget or forsake him.

God Will Never Forsake You

You may have been hurt in the past. Friends, co-workers, or even family have said and done things that left you feeling all alone, but God will never leave you. Like those mighty leaders in the Bible, you can do mighty things for the kingdom because God is with you.

Even if you have slipped away from the Lord, He has never forsaken you and is ready to welcome you home.

If you are lonely today, run to the one who never has and will never forget you. If others have hurt you, run to the God who promises to always be with you. If God is calling you to a new ministry, remember that He will be with you.

Look at that promise again.

Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you. – Hebrews 13:5

Make these confessions.

  •  God will never leave or forsake me.
  •  God can use me because He is with me.
  •  No matter what I do, God will never forsake me.
  •  I am never alone because God is with me.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

When everyone else has turned their backs on you, God has promised never to leave or forsake you. He will be there when everyone else is gone.

Billy, what version of the Bible do you use for your daily promises?

Hey Janice, most of the time I use the New American Standard translation. It is considered one of most accurate translations available today. – Billy
