God Works in Your Life
For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
Philippians 2:13
God Works in Your Life
God is far more interested in your heart than your service. He is working in your heart to grow you into the image of Christ.
When it comes to the Christian life, it all begins in the heart. God works in your heart to bring about His will and desire. How you act and live is directly related to what is going on in your heart. As your heart goes, so goes the rest of your life. Right now, the Holy Spirit is working in your heart to bring about obedience and service to God.
Too many Christians try to obey God on the outside without allowing God to change them on the inside. They adopt a list of “do’s” and “don’ts.” They try to “live right” without allowing God to change their heart. They never let the Christian life flow out of what God has done in their heart.
True Obedience
Many Christians think God is more interested in their actions than their attitudes. However, true obedience comes from the heart and shows itself in action. Everything you do for God must be out of a desire to please Him. God works in your heart and builds new desires for obedience and service to Him.
The Christian life is all about allowing the Holy Spirit to transform and empower your thinking so that your actions follow the inner transformation of your heart.
Right now, God is working in your life. He transforms your thinking and creates new desires for obedience and service to Christ. He is empowering you to accomplish His will in your life. The desire to be all God wants you to be didn’t begin with you. It started with God working in your heart.
You will find new strength and power to live the Christian life in victory and service to Christ as you allow God to transform and empower your heart.
Look at that promise again.
For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. – Philippians 2:13
Make these confessions.
- Right now, God is working in my life.
- The Holy Spirit is working in me to bring about obedience to Christ.
- God gives me the desire to obey and serve Him.
- God is working in me so He can work through me.
