God’s Promise of Christmas

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

The Christmas Promise

If you are like me, I love the Christmas season. Today, through Christmas Day, we will be focusing on the promises of Christmas and what they mean to us.

God had a plan from the moment Adam and Eve brought sin into the world. Their rebellion and disobedience were no surprise to the creator God. He promised, right in the garden, that One would come who would crush the head of Satan and restore what sin had destroyed.

The prophet Isaiah echoed God’s words in the garden with new details of who this person would be. God would send a child that would bring the peace He had promised. For hundreds of years, the people of God waited and longed for the appearance of this child. Though they could not see it, God was working to bring about His plan of salvation to the world.

God is Not Surprised

God is not surprised by the events in your life. He is not surprised by your sin or disobedience. He is not surprised when you stray from your walk with Him, and He is not surprised when you face problems and difficulties.

The birth of Jesus fulfilled God’s plan that began long before Adam and Eve ever needed a Savior. His answer to the problem of sin began long before they sinned.

The God who promised redemption through a baby born in a manger has promised forgiveness and restoration to you. You may not see it, but God is working behind the scenes to bring His plan into your life.

God has a perfect plan for you and is working to fulfill that plan. He is restoring in you all that sin has destroyed.

Look at the promise again.

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6

Make this confession.

  • Jesus’ birth was the fulfillment of God’s perfect plan.
  • Jesus brought salvation and redemption to my life.
  • God is never surprised by my actions or the problems I face.
  • He is working to bring about His plan in my life.

In Jesus’ name,

The promise of Christmas is that God had a plan of restoration from the very beginning of time. The baby in a manger would fulfill the promise of freedom and restoration from the devastating power of sin. God’s promise to you is that the same Jesus born in a manger will bring freedom and restoration to your life today.

Thank you to everyone who supports this ministry. More than five years ago, I left my job to begin a ministry with the goal of teaching husbands and wives how to pray for each other, sharing the promises of God’s word, and helping Christians to experience all that God has for them. I knew that for the ministry to succeed, God would have to bring people who would support me in this ministry. It was one of the scariest steps of faith that I have ever made. However, God has been faithful to touch the hearts of friends like you who have been impacted by the ministry and have generously supported it. As we come to the end of this year and begin to look forward to 2024, I am thrilled to see what God has in store for the coming year.

Thank you again for your financial support and prayers. If you have given a lot or just given a $5 Friday gift, you are an important part of this ministry. You are a blessing from God. Thank you for your faithful financial support.
