Today’s Promise

I Am Alive in Christ

1 Corinthians 15:22

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

Death or Life

When Adam sinned, he brought death into the world. Sin always leads to death. Adam passed a sinful nature and death to each one of us.

There is no avoiding physical death. We may fight against it by eating healthy, going to the gym, and getting regular checkups, but end the end, we all face physical death.

Adam or Christ

Just as Adam brought death into the world through sin, Jesus brings life through His righteousness.

When Christ died on the cross, and God raised Him from the grave, He overcame death’s power. Romans 8:11 says that what God did in raising Christ from the grave, He has done in you. Jesus broke the chains of sin and gave you a new, righteous nature. As a Christian, the life of Christ dwells in you.

Asleep in Christ

The New Testament refers to Christians who have died as “asleep in Christ.” When you are dead, you’re dead. It’s a final condition. However, sleep is just a temporary situation. Death and sleep look at lot like. The difference is, when you are asleep, you expect to wake up.

Those who are asleep in Christ are eagerly awaiting the return of Christ and eternity in heaven with Him.

You have hope today that even though you may die physically, it’s just a temporary experience. You will wake up in the presence of Christ to spend eternity with Him.

You don’t have to fear death, because Christ has promised you life. You have been made alive in Him, and one day will be raised for all eternity. Death is just a temporary experience for you.

One last thought. You don’t have to wait until you die to experience the new life in Christ. The abundant, eternal life began when you gave your heart to Christ.

Look at that verse again.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. – 1 Corinthians 15:22

Make this confession with me.

  • Just as Adam brought sin and death, Jesus brings life and righteousness.
  • I will not die; I will simply go to sleep in Christ.
  • Just as God raised Christ from the dead, He will raise me as well.
  • In Jesus Christ, I have life.

In Jesus Name,
Amen
