Today’s Promise

I Am the Only Way

John 14:5-6

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Jesus is Christianity

Christianity is different than all other religions. In most religions, you have a teacher or leader who points the way to God. If you remove that person, the basics of the religion remain unchanged.

When it comes to Christianity, everything centers around Jesus. Jesus was not a good teacher pointing the way; He was the way. He was a teacher and taught the multitudes about the kingdom of God; however, Jesus was much more. If you take Jesus out of Christianity, there is nothing left. Without Christ, Christianity doesn’t make sense.

In the verses just before this promise, Jesus told the disciples how wonderful heaven would be. He said there would be a place made especially for each of His followers. He will come back again to take them to be with Him. As usual, they didn’t understand.

Jesus is the Only Way

One of the disciples said, “How do we know the way?” Jesus said, “I am the way.” He didn’t say I know the way, or I can show you the way. Jesus said, “I am the way.”

He then took it to the next level by saying, He was the only way. Jesus discounted all other religions. They may be good people, doing good things, but salvation comes only through Jesus.

As His follower, He is your way. As you put your faith in Him, all the other promises of the Bible come true. He is the way to all you need.

No matter what you are going through today, Jesus is the way.

  • If you need comfort, Jesus is the way.
  • If you need strength, Jesus is the way.
  • Jesus is the way through your difficulty.
  • Jesus is the way to salvation and eternity with God.

Whatever your need is today, Jesus is the way. Allow your faith to increase and hold close to Jesus, the only way.

Look at that promise again.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” – John 14:5-6

Make these confessions.

  • Jesus is the way, truth, and life.
  • Jesus is not a way to God, but the only way to God.
  • Jesus is the way to everything I need now and forever.
  • As I put my faith in Christ, I know He will be my way.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Jesus is not a way to God. He is the only way to God. Good intentions, religion, and dedication won’t cut it. As you put your faith in Him, He becomes your way.

His word says that “I am the great I am”! That in itself settles it! Thank you for never wavering and accepting me with my flaws and for forgiving me! I strive to be who you created me to be.
