Today’s Promise

I Have Everything for Life and Godliness

2 Peter 1:3

Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

Through His supernatural power, Christ has given you everything you need to live the Christian life.

When our kids went off to college, we made sure they had everything they needed. We paid their tuition, secured their housing, and even checked their car before they left. We wanted to make sure they had everything they needed for a successful college experience.

In the same way, through Christ, God has given you everything you need for life and godly living. His supernatural power has provided everything you will ever need to live the Christian life.

God is Generous

The God you serve is a generous God who willingly provides all you need. Some Christians act as though God is a stingy God. They live as if God only gives out His blessing and provision to those who are worthy, or special.

On the sermon on the mount, Jesus taught us not to worry about tomorrow. Just as God takes care of the flowers and trees, He will take care of you.

The Christian life isn’t about struggling to perform and please God.

The true Christian life is living in the blessing and power Christ has already given you.

God is your true provision. It’s not your job, your spouse, or your 401K that provides security. Your Heavenly Father has already provided all you need.

Notice that this verse is in the past tense. God has already done this. Before my children left for college, everything was taken care of.

God has granted you all the power and resources you will ever need to live a godly life. He has given you access to Him so you can know and fellowship with Him.

Today, you have everything you need to live and walk in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Celebrate those wonderful blessings.

Look at that promise again.

Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. – 2 Peter 1:3

Make this confession.

  • God is giving me everything I need for daily living.
  • I will not worry about tomorrow because God is my provision.
  • His divine power is working in me today.
  • I have everything I need to live the Christian life.

In Jesus name,
Amen
