Today’s Promise

I Have the Holy Spirit in Me

John 7:39

Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Everything God is doing in the world today, He is doing through His Holy Spirit. That same Spirit dwells within you today.

The Holy Spirit is in You

Before Jesus left to be with the Father, He promised the Holy Spirit to those who believe. Today we celebrate the Holy Spirit Christ has given us.

If you have given your life to Christ and claimed Him as your Savior, you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to all who believe.

Seven Things

Here are seven quick things God is doing through the Holy Spirit in you.

1. He makes you His temple. In 1 Corinthians 6:19, the Apostle Paul says because the Holy Spirit dwells in you, you are His temple.

2. He empowers you to share your faith in Christ. Act 1:8 says that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will give you the power to share the Gospel with others.

3. He convicts you of sin and leads you back to God. The Holy Spirit’s conviction of sin isn’t for condemnation, but to bring you back to holy living.

4. He grows the fruit of the Spirit within you. The Fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22 are the natural result of a person living filled with the Spirit. You can’t grow spiritual fruit; only Christ in you can.

5. He reminds you that you are His child. Romans 8:15 tells us that we have received a Spirit of adoption. The Holy Spirit reminds you that you are God’s child.

6. He speaks to you. The Holy Spirit wants to speak to you, lead, and direct you. Jesus promised in John 16:3 that the Spirit would guide and disclose the heart of the father to you.

7. He brings the holiness of Christ in you. Galatians 5:16 says that if we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, we won’t carry out our sinful desires. His presence in you brings about holy living.

Even with all these incredible blessings, so many Christians undervalue the Holy Spirit in them. Don’t ignore the Holy Spirit, celebrate His presence in you.

Look at that promise once again.

Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. – John 7:39

Confess this with me.

  • I have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me.
  • I have the fruit of the Spirit growing in me.
  • I am empowered to be a witness for Christ.
  • The Holy Spirit convicts me of sin so I can walk in obedience to Christ.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

I cannot find a verse that states this. “He convicts you of sin and leads you back to God.” and I notice it is the only point with no scripture.

Hey Larry, sorry for leaving that verse out. John 16:8-11 Jesus says that the Holy Spirit will convict of sin and righteousness. Conviction of sin always has the purpose of bringing us back to God.
