Today’s Promise

Jesus Gives Me Peace

John 16:33

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

The Promise of Peace

If there is something we all desperately need today, it’s the peace of God. Aren’t you glad God has promised it to us?

Jesus promises you peace. Peace isn’t the absence of conflict, problems, or difficulties. Peace comes from living under the reign of Christ in your life. Peace comes from understanding that God is in control and that He cares for you.

Because Jesus overcame the world through His perfect life, He offers you peace in your life. His victory over the sin, death, and the world produced the supernatural peace He offers you today.

What is Peace?

Peace is the confident understanding that your loving heavenly Father is watching over you no matter what the situation you are facing.

When you live in the peace of Christ, He gives you peace with your past, peace in your heart, and peace in the midst of the storm.

In the verses before this promise, Jesus had told the disciples about using His name in prayer and about the Father’s love. When you ask in faith, in the name of Jesus, God promises to answer your prayer. Knowing God’s, incredible love, and the power of Jesus’ name releases a new peace in your heart and mind.

Jesus never guaranteed a problem-free life. He even said, in this life, you will have problems and difficulties. However, He also promised that because He overcame the world, His peace will rest on you.

You can have peace in this life because true peace is only found in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Look at this promise again.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

Confess this after me.

  • Today, I have the peace of Christ.
  • Because He has overcome the world, He offers me peace.
  • In the midst of my storm, Jesus gives me peace.
  • As I face problems and difficulties, I know I have the peace of Christ resting on me.

In Jesus Name.
Amen
