Today’s Promise

Jesus Gives Peace

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

We Need Peace

If there is something we all desperately need today, it’s the peace of God. Aren’t you glad God has promised us peace?

Jesus promises you peace. Peace isn’t the absence of conflict, problems, or difficulties. Peace comes from understanding that God is in control and that He cares for you. Peace comes from living under the reign of Christ in your life.

Jesus Offers You Peace

Because Jesus overcame the world through His perfect life, He offers peace in your life. His victory over sin and death provides the supernatural peace He offers you today.

Peace is the confident understanding that your loving Heavenly Father is watching over you no matter what situation you may be facing.

When you live in the peace of Christ, He gives you peace with your past, peace in your heart, and peace in the storm.

In the verses before this promise, Jesus told the disciples about using His name in prayer and about the Father’s love. When you ask in faith, in the name of Jesus, God promises to answer your prayer. Knowing God’s incredible love and the power of Jesus’ name releases a new level of peace in your heart and mind.

His Peace Rests on You

Jesus never guaranteed a problem-free life. He even said, you will have problems and difficulties. However, He also promised that because He overcame the world, His peace will rest on you.

You can have peace in this life because you can only find true peace through your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Look at this promise again.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

Make these confessions.

  • Today, I have the peace of Christ.
  • Because He has overcome the world, He offers me peace.
  • In my storm, Jesus gives me peace.
  • As I face problems and difficulties, I know the peace of Christ rests on me.

In Jesus’ Name.
Amen

The peace of Christ is a deep confidence that God is in control. Jesus gives you His peace that overflows and never runs dry.

Yes, I sense His peace often, especially when I’m feeling at a loss or that things are getting out of control. It’s as if He’s saying to me be still and know that I Am God. He’s saying don’t worry, I’ve got this. Peace just washes over me. A little later he shows me that things aren’t as bad as I imagined. I’m praising Him right now for His goodness and mercies. There’s no feeling like it. That’s when I know it’s God’s reassurance that everything will be okay.
