Today’s Promise

Joy Comes in the Morning

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5

Morning Will Come

Sometimes problems and difficulties feel like they will last forever. Today, God reminds you that the night will soon pass, and the morning will come. A new day of joy is about to begin.

If you have ever gotten up early to watch the sunrise, you know just how beautiful it can me. Sunrise in the mountains is even better. As the sun’s rays’ peek over the mountaintop, it’s a striking reminder that a new day has begun.

We have all had those nights where we tossed and turned, hoping for the morning. Right now, you may be going through a season of sorrow, pain, or uncertainty, and you think the dark night of your soul may never end. In your difficulty, it’s easy to get so focused on the problem that you think things will never change.

Sorrow for a Season

Weeping lasts for the night but not forever. Your sorrow is just for a season, not a lifetime. We all face problems, but they don’t last.

It may be hard to believe now, but joy will come. The pain will fade, your heartbreak will heal, and the sunrise of a new day will soon be here.

Now I am not downplaying the pain you may be going through right now. I know sometimes life is just hard. But the morning is coming, and a new day is about to begin.

Joy Comes in the Morning

The sun will rise, and a new season will emerge.

The only thing that lasts forever is God’s love. Think about that for a moment. As a child of God, you have the favor of God, and His favor lasts a lifetime. Actually, God’s favor lasts for more than a lifetime. It will last for all eternity. His love rests on you even in your darkest night. His love and favor bring a new day and joy in the morning.

Look at that promise again.

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. – Psalms 30:5

Makes these confessions.

  • Sorrow lasts for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
  • My darkest night will pass because the morning will soon dawn.
  • God is bringing me a new day of joy and favor.
  • By faith, I shout for joy at the new morning God is bringing.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

As we trust in the Lord, we find that sorry never lasts forever. God brings the morning and His joyful favor.

We learned last summer my wife had a tumor in her brain and needed it removed. There was not much joy at first upon learning of the news. However, as we prayed and received encouragement from thousands of people, that joy was restored. And the surgery went “perfect” as the neurosurgeon in Dallas said.
