Made Alive in Christ

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:22

Made Alive in Christ

Today, we are talking about the life we have in Christ. Even though Adam brought sin and death into the world, Jesus brought life and righteousness.

God placed Adam and Eve into a perfect world where He met their every need. They walked with God in the cool of the day and enjoyed fellowship with their creator.

Adam Brought Death

However, when Adam and Eve sinned, they brought separation from God and death into the world. Sin always brings separation and death. All creation felt the impact of Adam’s sin. Adam passed his sinful nature on to all of us. Now sin and death reign over the world and the hearts of men.

You can’t avoid death. Sure, you can try to postpone death by eating healthy, going to the gym, and getting regular medical exams, but in the end, we all face death. The mortality rate is always 100%.

However, just as Adam brought sin and death into the world, Jesus brought righteousness and life.

Jesus Brought Life

When Christ stepped out of the tomb that first Easter Sunday, He overcame the power of death. Romans 8:11 says that when God raised Christ from the grave, you were raised with Him.

Jesus broke the chains of sin and gave you a new, righteous nature. He also made you alive with Him. As a Christian, the life of Christ dwells in you.

Asleep in Christ

The New Testament refers to Christians who have died as “asleep in Christ.” When you are dead, you’re dead. It’s a terminal condition. However, sleep is just a temporary situation. Death and sleep look a lot alike. The difference is you expect to wake up when you are asleep.

Those who are asleep in Christ are eagerly awaiting the return of Christ to wake and spend eternity in heaven with Him.

Death is Temporary

You have hope today because even though you may die physically, it’s temporary. You will wake up in the presence of Christ to spend eternity with Him.

You don’t have to fear death because Christ has given you life. You have been made alive in Him and will one day be raised for all eternity. Death is just a temporary experience for you.

One last thought. You don’t have to wait until you die to experience the new life in Christ. The abundant, eternal life began when you gave your heart to Christ.

Look at that verse again.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. – 1 Corinthians 15:22

Make this confession with me.

  • Just as Adam brought sin and death, Jesus brought righteousness and life.
  • When I die, I am only resting in Jesus.
  • When God raised Christ from the dead, He raised me with Him.
  • In Jesus Christ, I have life.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

As a Christian, you live alive in Christ. Your spirit is alive in Him. Remember, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

There is no question our schools are under attack. It seems every day, we hear of gun violence, bullying, and other dangers at our schools. Every day our students face all sorts of temptations and challenges. That’s why I am proud to partner with the School Prayer Challenge.

This little app on your phone allows you to join others in your community, praying for protection around our schools. The app lists every school in the United States. You can create a list of schools to pray for and then see how many others are praying for your schools.

The goal of the School Prayer Challenge is to have people praying for every school in our nation. You can download the app for free in your app store or go to www.schoolprayerchallenge.org. Take the challenge to pray for schools across our country.
