Today’s Promise

My Sin is Removed

Psalm 103:12

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Jesus Paid For Your Sin

When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the penalty and broke the power of sin.

When you came to Christ through faith, you asked forgiveness of your sin. At that moment, the blood of Jesus forgave your sin. You were made right with God, and your sin was removed.

The Psalmist says that God removed our sin as for as the east is from the west.

From East to West

The distance between the north and south can be measured. There is a north pole and a south pole. If you go north long enough, you eventually begin going south. When it comes to traveling east, you can continue forever and never reach the west. East is an unending distance from the west. God took your sin and placed it an infinite distance from you. Your sin is no longer around.

So many Christians still carry the guilt of sin with them. Even though God has removed their sin, they still beat themselves up about past sins and mistakes. They feel inadequate for God to use them, and they never experience the joy of having their sin removed. They come to God, again and again, asking forgiveness for sin He has already forgiven.

They don’t really believe God has forgiven them. They don’t stand in faith when it comes to their forgiveness. They feel guilt for sins; God has already forgotten.

Forgive Yourself

Some Christians believe God has forgiven their sin, but they can’t forgive themselves. They see themselves as second class Christians because of their sin. They don’t understand that if God can forgive them, surely they can forgive themselves. They can’t seem to accept the fact that their sin has been removed.

Are you carrying around a load of old guilt and shame from your past?

Do you find yourself asking for forgiveness for past sins?

If God has forgiven your sin, surely you can forgive yourself.

Your sin is no longer yours. It has been placed on Jesus. He carries your sin. Your sin has been removed. You don’t have to carry it around anymore because it’s no longer yours. You need never carry guilt and shame again. Your sin has been removed, and it’s never coming back.

Look at this promise one more time.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. – Psalm 103:12

Make these confessions.

  • In Jesus Christ, my sins have been removed.
  • My sin is as far from me as the east is from the west.
  • I no longer live in shame or guilt.
  • Jesus has forgiven and removed my sin.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Is it that we forgive ourselves, or is it that we believe in the forgiveness God has bestowed on us?

We believe our sin is forgiven. That is the starting point. Faith in Christ brings forgiveness of sin. Sin was paid for once and for all on the cross. The issue arises that many Christians allow Satan to put guilt and condemnation on them. They believe that lie and continue in shame. Some Christians, even though they know their sins are forgiven, never allow the healing of Christ to work in their lives. They don’t forgive themselves and continue to beat themsevles up over sins of the past. – Billy
