Today’s Promise

My Spiritual Eyes Are Open

Ephesians 1:18-19

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.

Before you came to Christ, the Bible says the world has blinded you to God’s love and goodness.

You couldn’t see or understand spiritual truth. The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that your eyes were blinded by the world around you.

When God began working in your life, He opened your eyes to His love for you. When you came to Christ, He gave you the ability to understand spiritual truth. Today, He continues to enlighten you to His love and all He has for you.

It is a never-ending process of God, opening your eyes to greater spiritual truth. As you begin walking in that truth, God opens your eyes to even more truth.

God is opening your eyes to at least three areas.

  1. The hope of your calling. As I have mentioned before, you walk with God is just a downpayment of all God has for you. Our short years on the earth are but a flash compared to eternity.
  2. The richest of his glory. Our words fail when we try and describe God’s greatness and glory. You serve a mighty God and that God is working on your behalf.
  3. The surpassing greatness of His power to you. Only God can help us understand all the power and spiritual authority He is pouring out on us each day.

Today, God is opening your eyes to a deeper understanding of His love and power to you. No matter where you are in your walk with God today, he wants to enlighten you, so you see just how much more he has for you, and how great his plan is for you.

Look at that promise again.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. – Ephesians 1:18-19

Confess this with me.

  • God is opening my eyes to the hope I have in Christ.
  • I am part of the inheritance of the saints.
  • God’s surpassing power is being poured out on me.
  • Every day God is opening my eyes to all He has for me.

In Jesus Name,
Amen
