Today’s Promise

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6

What God began in your life, He is going to complete. We often think the Christian life is all about us. I need to study the Bible more, I need to pray more, I need to share my faith, I need to be more sensitive and the list goes on and on and on, but it’s really about God working in us.

If you look back over your walk with God, I’m sure you would see how God has worked in your life, time and time again. There were times when you drifted away from Him, and He used a situation or a person to bring you back to Himself. There was a financial need that God met at the very last minute. Even during difficult times, God has been working in your life.

If God has done all this for you, do you really think He is going to let you down now?

This verse literally says “Since I am confident…”  Paul was absolutely confident that God was going to complete His work in the lives of the Christians in Philippi.

I am absolutely convinced that God is going to finish His work in you as well.

The work God is doing in you is a good work. You may not understand it, or even believe it, but every day God is working in your life to make you more like Jesus. Even when you are resisting His work, He is working behind the scenes to bring you back into full fellowship.

The word “perform” means to carry through. God is not going to keep working until you are complete in Him.

Let’s review that verse one more time.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. – Philippians 1:6

Confess this with me.

What God began in my life, He is going to complete.

Every day He is working to make me more like Jesus.

Today, He is working in my life.

He is not finished with me, and won’t stop until His work is complete in me.

He has brought me this far,

He is not going to let me down now.

I am confident that He will complete His work in me.

In Jesus name, I confess this

Amen

God is working in your life, and will continue working until He has completed you in Christ Jesus.

How do you see God working in your life to make you like Jesus.

Wow! Such an awesome reminder of God’s faithfulness. Yes, God has been working in my life, tremendously, throughout my entire life since being born again. And even before being born again, I know God was watching over me so that I could have that personal encounter with Him and receive Him into my heart. Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus, for your mighty love and faithfulness; your sacrifice for me, my sins.

As a result, I have grown to be a man of God serving at my church for 22 years, as translator, deacon, youth leader, men’s leader, new believers teacher and worship member. I owe all of this to God and all for His glory.

Thank you, father in heaven, for the many ministries such as this one, The Daily Promise. God, may you bless them abundantly, with wisdom, guidance and strength for the spreading of your Word and Kingdom and the salvation of many souls, I pray, In Jesus name, Amen.
