Saturday Review
Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.
Monday – Adopted by Christ
We began the week with the promise that God calls us His children. We aren’t slaves who cower before their masters but children who see God as our Father.
Here’s the promise.
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” – Romans 8:15
Make these confessions.
- In Jesus Christ, I am a child of God.
- I am adopted into the Family of God.
- I don’t live in fear because God is my Father.
- I have received a spirit of adoption.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
There are two ways to live the Christian life, as a slave or a child. I hope you will claim this promise today and live as a child of God.
Tuesday – God is You Light and Lamp
On Tuesday, we saw how God is our lamp and our light. He brings light into our darkest days. His light brings clarity, removes fear, and keeps us on the path to righteousness.
Here’s the promise.
For you are my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness. – 2 Samuel 22:29
Make these confessions.
- God is my light.
- He is bringing clarity, protection, and guidance to me.
- As I walk in His light, my fear is removed.
- His light keeps me from stumbling.
- God turns my darkness into light.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
Your God is the lamp that turns your darkest times into light.
Wednesday – God Has Chosen You
Midway through the week, we celebrated the love of God by claiming the promise that God chose us for Himself. His incredible love goes beyond our comprehension.
Here’s the promise.
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain. – John 15:16
Make these confessions.
- Before I even knew Him, God chose me.
- I had nothing to offer Him.
- It was His incredible love that reached out to me.
- I am His child today because of His incredible love.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
God loved you so much that He chose you to be His own. If you can grasp just a little of this promise, it will transform your Christian life.
Thursday – God is Always Thinking of You
On Thursday, we were reminded that God is always thinking of us. Like a loving father, we are always on His heart. His thoughts of us are innumerable.
Here’s the promise.
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You. – Psalm 139:17-18
Make these confessions.
- Right now, God is thinking about me.
- I am on His heart and mind.
- He thinks of me so often that I could never count His thoughts of me.
- As my loving Father, I am always on His mind.
- Even in the middle of the night, God is thinking of me.
In Jesus’ Name.
Amen
Be encouraged today. The Great I AM is thinking about you today. You are in His thoughts. Rest easy; God is watching over you.
Friday – Worship in Spirit and Truth
We ended the week seeing how God is seeking worshippers. It doesn’t matter where you worship. You can worship in the grandest cathedral or grass hut. Worshipping in spirit and truth is worshipping God through the name of Jesus with an open and honest heart before Him.
Here’s the promise.
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. – John 4:24
Make these confessions.
- I can worship God wherever I am.
- I worship the Lord through the name of Jesus.
- When I worship, my heart focuses on God.
- God accepts my worship when I worship Him with an honest and sincere heart.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
As a follower of Christ, you know that when you come to God in prayer or worship, you must come in spirit and in truth.
That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
Which of these promises were especially meaningful to you? Share it in the comments below.
These promises reveal how much God cares about us and does for us. Why? I suppose He wants us to be reconciled to Him, so he adopted us, He brings light into our lives, He chose us to bear fruit that remains, and He thinks about us, and it’s obvious He loves us. The natural response for us is to love Him right back and worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Thank You God.
