Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – You Meant it for Evil, But God Used it for Good

We began the week looking at the life of Joseph. If anyone had the right to hold bitterness and unforgiveness, surely it was Joseph. However,  when his brothers came asking for help, Joseph understood that though they meant harm to him, God used it for good.

God can take the worst events in our life and use them for His glory and our good.

Here’s the promise

But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. – Genesis 50:20

Make these confessions.
  • God is working all things for my good.
  • Though others may seek to harm me, God will use it for His glory.
  • I will not hold bitterness or unforgiveness on those who hurt me.
  • I will forgive those who wrong me and look forward to what God does on my behalf.

In Jesus name,
Amen

There are so many life lessons to be learned from Joseph. Take some time to read his story. It’s found in Genesis, beginning in chapter 37.

Tuesday – God is Faithful When We Are Unfaithful

On Tuesday, we celebrated the promise that God remains faithful even when we are unfaithful. God’s love for us goes beyond our performance. God continues to love us and draw us back to Himself.

Here’s the promise.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. – 2 Timothy 2:13

Make these confessions
  • My Heavenly Father is a faithful God.
  • God is always faithful to His word.
  • God’s commitment love for me is beyond my understanding.
  • Even when I am Unfaithful, He is faithful.

In Jesus’ Name.
Amen

God is faithful to His word and to His children. He has a never-ending love for you and me. In addition, He is faithful to His word. You can rely on every promise and commitment He has made.

Wednesday – God is Creator

Midway through the week, we saw that God is the great creator. The Bible begins with a promise that  God is the creator of the heavens and the earth.

Here’s the promise.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. – Genesis 1:1

Make these confessions.
  • My Heavenly Father is the great creator God.
  • God’s handiwork can be seen in the world around me.
  • As the creator, God holds us accountable for our actions.
  • The blood of Jesus has cleansed me from all sin.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Your Heavenly Father is the great creator God. As the creator, He is actively involved in creation. You don’t have to worry about tomorrow, for your Father has a plan for your life and all creation.

Thursday – Jesus Gives Strength in Temptation

On Thursday, we claimed the promise that Jesus gives us strength for victory over temptations. We all face temptation. When we face temptations, Jesus is right there to strengthen and help us overcome every temptation.

Here’s the promise.

For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. – Hebrews 2:18

Make these confessions.
  • Jesus has gone through every temptation I face.
  • Jesus understands what it’s like to be tempted.
  • In every temptation, Jesus gives me strength.
  • I can walk in victory over temptation through Christ in me.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

When temptations come, Jesus will give you the strength to resist and overcome every temptation that comes into your life.

Friday – Thus Far the Lord Has Helped Me

We ended the week by agreeing with the prophet Samuel that God has helped us this far. If God has been our provider, protector, and help in the past, why would He not continue to be with us to face the problems of today?

Here’s the promise.

Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” – 1 Samuel 7:12

Make these confessions.
  • God is my help and strength.
  • Thus far the Lord has helped me.
  • God has helped me before. He will do it again.
  • When I remember His provision, my faith grows strong.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

The God you serve is faithful. When you stop and remember his work in your life, it builds your faith and trust in Him. Up until now, He has been your provision and help. Trust Him that He will continue to stand with you today and forever.

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word.

Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
