Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – God Sends Angels Before You

We began the week with the promise that God places angels before us to guide and protect us. You may not see them, but they are at work in the invisible world.

Here’s the promise.

See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. – Exodus 23:20

Make these confessions.
  • Today, I am protected by angels that go before me.
  • I rest in faith that angels are guarding me.
  • I stand firm, knowing angels are clearing the way for me.
  • Father, thank you for Your angelic defense team that watches over me.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

There is no need to fear, for God has placed angels before us. They guard us and clear our path.

Tuesday – God Knows Your Name

On Tuesday, we saw that just as Jesus knows us by name. Jesus cared about individuals. He always took the time to meet each person’s needs. When He saw Zaccheus, He called him by name. He calls us by name as well.

Here’s the promise.

So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree in order to see Him, for He was about to pass through that way. When Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house. – Luke 19:4-5

Make these confessions.
  • I am important to God.
  • He knows my name.
  • God loves me and invites me into an intimate relationship with Him.
  • He calls me by name to follow Him.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

You are known and loved by God. He calls you by name to follow Him and walk with Him. Because He loves you, you never have to feel lost in the crowd.

Wednesday – Greater is He that is in You

Midway through the week, we claimed the promise that the Holy Spirit within us is greater than the darkness around us. As followers of Christ, we can stand firm against Satan’s deception through the power of Christ in us.

Here’s the promise.

You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. – 1 John 4:4

Make these confessions.
  • The Spirit of Christ dwells in me.
  • The false teachers of the day will not fool me.
  • I will not fall to Satan’s temptations.
  • The Holy Spirit in me is greater than the kingdom of darkness around me.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

We can live in victory over Satan’s deceptions and temptations because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

Thursday – You Have Victory Over Fear

On Thursday, we discovered that God has given us a spirit of power, love, and self-control. Because Christ is in us, we are no longer slaves to our fears.

Here’s the promise.

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. – 2 Timothy 1:7

Make these confessions.
  • Fear does not control me.
  • God has given me power, love, and self-control.
  • I am not afraid.
  • I live in faith and do not cower in fear.
  • In faith, I will follow God’s direction wherever He leads.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

God has not given you a spirit of fear, so go out and live in the power and confidence God has given you.

Friday – Resist the Devil, and he will Flee

We ended the week with the promise that we have victory over Satan. Every day he brings custom-made temptations and spiritual attacks our way. As we submit to God and resist Satan’s attack, he will flee from us.

Here’s the promise.

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. – James 4:7

Make these confessions.
  • In Jesus’ name, I have victory over the devil.
  • I submit myself to the will and leadership of Christ.
  • I stand against the attack of Satan in my life.
  • I claim the victory God has promised me over Satan.
  • I know Satan will flee as I resist him.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

You don’t have to walk in defeat to Satan’s attack. Submit to God and resist the devil, and he will flee from You.

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word.

All of these promises are important to remember and embrace. They are great encouragement in the battle against temptation and evil. The one that impacted me most is the one that said Jesus knows us by name and calls us by name. When Jesus called to Zaccheus to come down and welcome Him into his home, he didn’t hesitate. He played host to the Lord of Lords, the Son of God, the King of Kings. We too must recognize and remember who we serve.
