Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – Jesus is Coming Back Soon

We began the week claiming the promise that Jesus is returning for His people. Soon, we will meet Him face-to-face in the air.

Here’s the promise.

Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. – 1 Thessalonians 4:17

Make these confessions.

  • When Christ returns, I will meet Him in the air.
  • Jesus will set up His eternal kingdom here on earth.
  • I will spend all eternity with Him on a new earth.
  • I look forward to the day when He returns for me.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

You can live with hope today, knowing that one day you will meet the Lord Jesus in the air to spend eternity with Him.

TuesdayWe are Heirs to the Promise of Christ

On Tuesday, we saw how we are heirs to the promise of Christ.

When you placed your faith in Christ, you became a child of the great King of Kings. You were born into the royal family of God. God is your father, and you are an heir to all His promises.

Here’s the promise.

And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise. – Galatians 3:29

Make these confessions.

  • In Christ, I am born again into God’s family.
  • I am an heir of Christ.
  • As an heir of Christ, I have every promise of God.
  • My inheritance in Christ is based on nothing but faith in Him.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

As a child of God, you have a birthright, an inheritance. Through faith in Christ, you have been born again and made heir to all the promises of God.

Wednesday – Take Every Thought Captive

Midway through the week, we learned the need to take every thought captive. Our mind is a spiritual battlefield, but God has given us the mind of Christ.

Because you have the mind of Christ, you have power over your thoughts.

Here’s the promise.

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. – 2 Corinthians 10:5

Make these confessions.

  • I have the mind of Christ in me.
  • I am taking every thought captive.
  • I am capturing every wrong thought early.
  • I am transforming my mind by dwelling on God’s Word.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Every thought that takes you away from walking in obedience to Christ must be captured and restrained, just like a prisoner of war.

ThursdayGod’s Training is for Your Good

On Thursday, we claimed the promise that because God loves us, He brings discipline and training into our lives.

God allows various trials in your life to build your faith and trust in Him. As God tests your faith, it grows and develops.

Here’s the promise.

My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. – Proverbs 3:11-12

Make these confessions.

  • God’s discipline is always for my good.
  • Because He loves me, He tests and stretches my faith.
  • I don’t always enjoy discipline, but it makes me spiritually mature.
  • I welcome His discipline because it makes me more like Him.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Because God loves you, He sometimes has to correct you. He does that to make you stronger and to bring you back to Himself. He always does it out of love.

Friday – Jesus Gives You Peace

We ended the week with the promise that Christ gives peace beyond comprehension.

Peace is the confident understanding that your loving Heavenly Father is watching over you no matter what situation you may be facing.

Here’s the promise.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

Make these confessions.

Today, I have the peace of Christ.

Because He overcame the world, He offers me peace

In my storm, Jesus gives me peace.

As I face problems and difficulties, I know the peace of Christ rests on me.

In Jesus’ Name.
Amen

The peace of Christ is a deep confidence that God is in control. Jesus gives you His peace that overflows and never runs dry.

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
