Saturday Review

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – The Joy of the Lord is My Strength

We began the week with the promise that the joy of the Lord is our strength. The Joy of the Lord lifts your heart from sorrow to celebration, thanksgiving, and worship. The joy of the Lord is your strength today.

Here’s the promise.

Then he said to them, “Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10

Make these confessions.
  • I have the joy of Jesus in me today.
  • My joy is not dependent on my circumstances but on the Lord.
  • My Heavenly Father rejoices over me today.
  • The joy of the Lord is my strength today.

In Jesus name,
Amen

As you place your trust in the Lord, you will find His joy springing up in your innermost being. You will find new strength as you rest in the joy of the Lord.

Tuesday – God’s Word Keeps Me From Sin

On Tuesday, we learned the secret of overcoming temptation and sin. When you make God’s Word a priority in our life, it keeps you from sin and gives you the power to resist temptation.

Here’s the promise.

Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. – Psalm 119:11

Make these confessions.
  • As I treasure God’s Word, it renews my mind.
  • When I read and study God’s Word, it strengthens my faith.
  • God’s Word shows me when I sin and how to get right with God.
  • As I treasure God’s Word in my heart, it keeps me from sin.

In Jesus name,
Amen

As you allow God’s Word to go deep into your heart, it transforms your life and keeps you from sin.

The great American Evangelist Dwight L. Moody once said, “The Bible will keep you from sin, and sin will keep you from the Bible.”

Wednesday – Jesus is the Only Way

Midway through the week, we saw how Jesus is the only way to God. Contrary to current views, there is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ.

Here’s the promise.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” – John 14:5-6

Make these confessions.
  • Jesus is the way, truth, and life.
  • Jesus is not a way to God, but the only way to God.
  • Jesus is the way to everything I need now and forever.
  • As I put my faith in Christ, I know He will be my way.

In Jesus name,
Amen

There is a growing pressure to view all religions as the same. However, Jesus is not a way to God. He is the only way to God. Good intentions, religion, and dedication won’t cut it. The only way to God is through faith in Christ.

Thursday – I Am Filled With Grace and Hope

On Thursday, we claimed the promise that we are filled with hope and grace.

The grace of God is the underserved privilege you enjoy as His child. Through grace, you have access to God’s presence.

But God’s grace is just the beginning. You can also rejoice for the hope you have in Christ.

Hope is not wishful thinking. Hope understands that God is in control and is working all things together for your good.

Here’s the promise.

Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. – Romans 5:2

Make these confessions.
  • I have God’s grace pouring over me today.
  • I have the undeserved favor of God.
  • My hope is not in this world but in the grace of God.
  • I can rejoice today because God is in charge and working for my good.

In Jesus name,
Amen

It is so easy for the world to pull your eyes off the incredible blessings you have in Christ. Keep your focus on His grace working in your life today. It is His grace that gives you hope.

Friday – I Am Dead in Christ

We ended the week with the promise that we are dead in Christ. At first, it may not make sense, but when you realize you are dead in Christ, you find new freedom and power to live the Christian life.

Here’s the promise.

Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. – Romans 6:3-4

Make these confessions.
  • I am dead in Christ.
  • When Jesus died on the cross, I died with Him.
  • I am dead to sin’s power over me.
  • Since I am dead in Christ, I am alive through His resurrection.

In Jesus name,
Amen

Today, walk as one who is dead in Christ but alive to His new life.

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word.

Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
