This Week’s Promises

John 17:13 2 Thessalonians 3:16 | Philippians 4:6 | Galatians 2:20 | Joshua 1:9

Saturday is review day on The Daily Promise. Every Saturday, we review the promises we learned during the week so we can allow them to go deep into our hearts.

Monday – Jesus Gives You Joy

We began the week by seeing how Jesus is the source of our joy. Joy comes from the confidence that God is working in your life to bring about his good plan for you. Joy gives you the strength to face the most challenging times and assurance that God is in control. Joy comes springing up from within, no matter what is happening around you.

Here’s the promise

“I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.” – John 17:13

Make these confessions.
  • Jesus prays for me to receive His full measure of joy.
  • I have the joyful fruit of the Spirit growing in me.
  • No matter my situation, I have confidence God is working for my good.
  • Today, I receive all the joy Jesus prayed for me to receive.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

The Christian life is a joy-filled life. Jesus walked in joy and invites you and me to live in the fulness of His joy.

Tuesday – God Gives You Peace

On Tuesday, we celebrated the peace that we have through Christ. Living in the peace of Christ isn’t ignoring the problems and worries around you. Peace-filled living is not denying problems but understanding that God is on His throne and ruling the universe.

Here’s the promise.

Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all! – 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Make these confessions.
  • My Savior is the Lord of peace.
  • I have God’s peace in every situation.
  • Submitting my life to Christ releases His peace in my life.
  • I have peace because Jesus is in me.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

You can rest in peace because the Lord of peace is in you.

Wednesday – Prayer is the Cure for Worry

Midway through the week, we committed to the Lord’s command not to worry but to pray about everything.

Prayer is the cure for worry. When you pray about everything, you won’t worry about anything. When you pray about nothing, you worry about everything.

Here’s the promise.

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. – Philippians 4:6

Make these confessions.
  • I will not worry; I will pray.
  • Nothing is too small to pray about.
  • When I become anxious or fretful, I will pray.
  • I will pray about everything and worry about nothing.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen

God gives you the solution to your fear and worry. As you learn to bring everything to the Lord, your worry and fear will fade. You will have new boldness and confidence that God is taking care of you.

Thursday – Jesus Lives in You

On Thursday, we claimed the promise that Jesus lives in us. Christ in us is more than just symbolic. Jesus literally took up residence in us. When we came to Christ, He made us new creations and transformed our old sinful heart into a new, living heart that desires to walk in fellowship with Christ.

Since Christ is in us, He is always with us. He speaks, guides, and empowers us each day.

Here’s the promise.

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Galatians 2:20

Make these confessions.
  • I have Jesus dwelling in me.
  • Jesus leads me throughout my day.
  • I am a new person in Jesus Christ.
  • Wherever I go today, Jesus goes with me.

In Jesus’ name
Amen

You have Jesus living in you. You have been made new in Him, and wherever you go, He is there with you. He speaks to you and leads you throughout your day.

Friday – Be Strong and Courageous

We ended the week with the promise of strength and courage. Just as God commanded Joshua, He commands us to be strong and courageous. Remember, when God gives a command, He empowers us to accomplish His command. We have His power to be strong and courageous.

Here’s the promise.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9

Make these confessions.
  • I am strong and courageous.
  • I will not fear, for God is with me.
  • I walk according to the Word of God.
  • I have victory over every enemy because God fights for me.
  • In Jesus’ name,
    Amen

You can be bold and take courage because God has given you His word and is with you. With God by your side, how can you be afraid?

That’s it for this week. I hope these promises have been a blessing to you. Go back through these promises and allow God to renew your mind with these truths from His Word. Share one of these promises with a friend or family member. Everyone can use an encouraging word from God’s Word.
