Today’s Promise

The Greatest Christmas Promise

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Over the last few days, we have looked at a number of promises related to the birth of Christ. Each verse revealed a different aspect of the promise of Christmas.

The Greatest Promise

The greatest promise of all is found in one of the most loved and familiar verses of the Bible.

God loved you and me so much that He sent his Son Jesus.

Jesus was more than a teacher, or another prophet, or even an enlightened person. Jesus was God poured out in flesh.

No matter who you are, what you’ve done, or where you find yourself. Let me remind you today that God loves you.

Christmas is God’s Love

Although we all love the presents, the tree, and all the trappings of Christmas, the real meaning of Christmas is God’s love.

We give gifts at Christmas because God gave the greatest gift of all – Jesus.

His love for you is more than you could ever comprehend. He loves you, and will never stop loving you. Your past doesn’t matter, because God loves you today.

Look at that promise again.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. – John 3:16

Make these confessions.

  • I Am loved by God.
  • His love for me is more than I can comprehend.
  • God will never stop loving me.
  • Because He loves me, He sent His Son.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen
