Today’s Promise

The Greatest Promise of Christmas

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Over the last week, we have looked at a number of promises related to the birth of Christ. Each verse revealed a different aspect of the promise of Christmas.

The greatest promise of all is found in one of the most loved and familiar verses of the Bible.

God’s Love

God’s love for us was so great that He stepped out of heaven and into this world. Jesus could have been born in the finest palace of the day, but God chose a simple manger behind a crowded inn. He could have come as a king but instead came as a little baby, all to show us the Father’s love.

God loved you and me so much that He sent his Son Jesus.

Jesus was more than a teacher, another prophet, or even an enlightened person. Jesus was God poured out in the flesh.

No matter who you are, what you’ve done, or where you find yourself. Let me remind you today that God loves you.

Although we all love the presents, the tree and all the trappings of Christmas, the real meaning of Christmas is God’s love.

We give gifts at Christmas because God gave us the greatest gift of all – Jesus.

His love for you is more than you could ever comprehend. He loves you and will never stop loving you. Your past doesn’t matter because God loves you today

Look at that promise again.ย

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. – John 3:16

Make this confession after me.

  • I Am loved by God.
  • His love for me is more than I can comprehend.
  • God will never stop loving me.
  • Because He loves me, He sent His Son.

In Jesus name,
Amen

The greatest promise of all is the promise of God’s love. His love sent Jesus to be born of a manger, die for our sins, and bridge the gap between God and us. This is the promise of Christmas.
