Today’s Promise

August 23, 2023

Those Who Know God Trust God

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:10

Know and Trust God

When you know the Lord, you trust Him. The more you know the Lord, the more you trust Him.

God reveals Himself in His Word. The Bible gives you a clear understanding of who God is and what He is like. The Bible shows you the character of God and how He worked in the lives of people throughout history.

As you read the New Testament, you learn the teachings and miracles of Jesus. Jesus said, if you have seen Him, you have seen the Father. The more you know about Jesus, the more you know about God.

However, knowing God is more than just knowing facts about God. I may know many facts about the President of the United States, but that doesn’t mean I know him personally. Too many Christians know about God, but they have never taken the time to really know Him. God’s Word promises you can know God personally. You can know Him by name.

Knowing God by Name

Knowing God by name is knowing Him the way you know your best friend. God calls you to a relationship with Him, where you truly become friends.

Through faith in Christ, you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. He leads and guides you through your day. The Holy Spirit takes the Word of God and applies it in your life.

On a practical basis, the longer you walk with the Lord, the more you know Him and experience His protection, leadership, and love.

You know God has always been with you through every battle, struggle, and difficulty.

Because you know Him so well, you trust Him completely. You know that when you knock on God’s door, He always answers and is ready to help. During your darkest times, You know that He was with you, and you know that when those dark times return, He will be with you again.

The more you know the Lord, the more you recognize His voice. As you grow in your walk with God, you trust Him more every day.

Look at that promise again.

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. – Psalm 9:10

Make these confessions.

  • The more I know the Lord, the more I trust Him.
  • My trust in the Lord grows every day.
  • I know the Lord, and He knows me.
  • Because He is trustworthy, He will never forsake me.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

There is one thing those who know the name of the Lord will always confess; God is faithful and trustworthy. He always comes to the aid of His children, and He will be with you today.

Thanks for this daily reminder of God’s promises. It”s wonderful for women to learn how to pray for their husband’s and children. I hope men and husband’s will have the same opportunity to learn how to pray for their wives. I was married for over 30 years before my husband went to glory. Our marriage was richly enhanced when he fervently began praying for me. I knew that I was not only protected by G9d as His child, but then in prayer protected by my husband’s love. What a great opportunity for marriage building!
